      About the role

      We’re looking for a Director, Business Development to join our growing team!

      What you'll do here:

      • Develop strategies to retain, develop and expand business with brokers in the territory.
      • Drive team towards excellence and achieve a consistent and sustained level of commitment.
      • Develop, implement and monitor the territory's detailed growth plan.
      • Generate strong interest in business development among brokers to drive profitable growth.
      • Establish objectives and implement a detailed growth plan for his or her territory in collaboration with the Senior Managers by line of business.
      • Collaborate in the development, implementation and follow-up of the development plans of the brokers in his territory.
      • Collaborate in the financial transactions of the brokers in his/her territory (financial solutions, sales and acquisitions).
      • Participate in the development of strategies and communicate the vision of the organization in relation to the business plan, growth plan, products and business philosophy.
      • Ensure the performance and development of the skills of its employees and ensure an adequate succession.
      • Be an ambassador of change by applying best practices in terms of change management (lead by example, get involved, mobilize).


      What you bring to the table:

      • Be an excellent negotiator in moderate to complex situations.
      • Demonstrate a high degree of autonomy, organization and proactivity.
      • Be a team player.
      • Very good management of business under pressure.
      • Strive for excellence and be inspired by the client.
      • Have a good knowledge of the brokerage network with commercial insurance practice.
      • Have a very good knowledge of commercial, auto and home insurance products.
      • Have a good knowledge of software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Office 365.
      • Have a valid class 5 driver's licence with good driving record.
      • [Bilingual (French and English)] Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
      • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
