Job Summary Comcast is building a novel mobile broadband solution that converges the latest in 5G technology with a world class cable network and operation. We are looking for a Director, 5G Core Technology to join the team. Job Description We are considering candidates with the following qualifications: Proven track record leading a 5G mobile core architecture organization defining an E2E network strategy including roadmap development for mobile core network infrastructure evolution. Extensive experience with 5G Next Generation Multi-access Core architecture development, RFP evaluation processes and vendor selection processes. Strong technical background and hands-on experience with the design, development and deployment of Mobility network infrastructure systems as well as cloud-based Telco grade technologies. Skilled in Network edge service architecture, including Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) and Network Edge Computing (NEC) product design, development, deployment, and launch. Extensive practical operational knowledge of network QoS, disaster recovery, performance modeling and security to continuously improve the performance and reliability of mobility network services to meet ever demanding operational requirements. Deep level background with 3GPP standards and their applications to the 5G SA packet core features and mobility call flows. Proven track record leading cross-functional teams of senior technical subject matter experts including experience with multi-Vendor Management driving E2E network architectures and designs through development, deployment and launch phases. 10+ years of experience in the wireless mobility industry, advanced degree, i.e. M.S.E.E. preferred. Core Responsibilities Oversees the initial development and architecture of designs for future products and applications that best support the Company's technology and engineering roadmap. Drives design and development strategies across platforms, teams and third parties. Evaluates solutions presented to the company by various partners and vendors. Oversees case studies, testing and reporting. Guides business, marketing and product management units on latest technological trends and developments. Ensures the continuous improvement of processes and standards. Directs research of new technology areas. Analyzes and evaluates changes in technology and defines current and future departmental objectives. Leverages relationships with industry partners to keep current with technological developments within the industry, develops new standards, monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Develops and manages department and project budgets. Recruits, builds and nurtures high performance teams. Provides leadership and direction to Technical Research and Development staff by setting goals, objectives, performance criteria and departmental standards. Forecasts project estimates, resource needs, timelines and oversees schedules of product releases and project time tables. Schedules and moderates periodic meetings with staff to review recent developments and plan/prioritize future activities. Presents concepts and technical information in common terms to end user(s). Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Relevant Work Experience 15 Years + Salary: National Pay Range: $123,279.14 USD-$288,935.48 USD Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
