  Job Description

  In this highly visible leadership role, the Director, Accounting and Financial Reporting, will lead the accounting and financial reporting function in supporting the achievement of the System’s strategic goals and objectives. This leader will have as their primary responsibility, direct oversight and responsibility for accounting policies and procedures as well as communication and resolution of issues for the centralized accounting department. The Director, Accounting and Financial Reporting reports to the Vice President of Accounting.

  • Managing and evaluating the Accounting and Financial Reporting shared services operations, including month-end close and financial analytics and analysis
  • Producing consolidated monthly and annual consolidated financial statements, ensuring the integrity and consistency of the consolidated financial reporting process and metrics across the system
  • Continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the financial reporting processes and controls.
  • Preparation of presentations to the board and other committees
  • Evaluate the impact of new accounting pronouncements and financial reporting developments and prepare related technical paper
  • Assists external auditors in the planning and execution of annual audits, including the resolution of accounting and auditing issues.
  • Manage external audit requirements
  • Current and in-depth knowledge of accounting principles
  • Developing automation and standardization around regular accounting reports and schedules
  • Fostering and building teamwork between the accounting and operating function
  • Leading and developing accounting department processes and staff development
  • Significant interaction with finance leaders throughout the organization at all levels, as well as Legal, Tax, Treasury, Internal/External Audit, Corporate and Hospital Financial Analysis

  Bachelor's Degree (Required)

  6-9 Years of experience

  Certified Public Accountant (Preferred)
