      Responsibilities:

      Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Public Affairs, The Director of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies (ACFC) Foundation will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the AmeriHealth Caritas Foundation. This will include the initial and on-going development, implementation and oversight of the AmeriHealth Caritas Foundation grant making/giving program. This role will intersect with our Finance, Legal, Corporate Communications and Community Investment teams and also provide key connectivity for the Foundation across the ACFC footprint with market leadership, while also supporting and informing the Foundation Board of Directors.

      Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

      • Assist in the design, development, and execution of a comprehensive strategy for the Foundation to positively impact its designated focus area: ACES. Support will be directed to the Foundation pillars in the following areas:
        • Health Equity: Intervening to increase access to equitable, high-quality resources.
        • Behaviors: Building resilience in children and families by intervening in the areas of mental health, substance abuse, physical abuse and violence, and emotional abuse.
        • Life Potential: Paving the way for children and their families to reach their full potential by way of care giver support, removing economic barriers, financial literacy, and teaching skills.
      • Identify and execute strategic and sustainable ACES grant opportunities.
      • Develops, recommends, and administers policies, procedures and processes in support of the Foundation’s goals and operations, in accordance with relevant legal parameters.
      • Ensure all Foundation and philanthropic corporate giving activities abide by all IRS and any other regulatory provisions and requirements.
      • Oversee, monitor, and ensure any grants made are monitored for expected performance/results, including presenting statistical, budget, financial, and narrative reports to the appropriate key executives and stakeholders.
      • Participates in/on a variety of meetings, committees, taskforces and/or other related groups to communicate information regarding the Foundation and its initiatives to relevant stakeholders.
      • Oversee selection and ensure the fairness of grant making and awarding.
      • Raise AmeriHealth Caritas’ profile and strengthen its reputation among grant recipients, constituents, volunteers, organizational partners, other key stakeholders and the general public around all of our current and projected markets.
      • Act as a leading voice in addressing ACES and the challenges facing our health care system.

      Education/Experience:

      • Bachelor’s Degree required.
      • Master’s Degree preferred.
      • 10+ years of increasingly responsible experience in related functions, including event planning, fund-raising, program execution, vendor relations, budget and financial analysis and customer service.
      • Ability to work collaboratively with internal leadership and with external partners at the individual and organizational level and the ability to work effectively in a complex, dynamic and changing organization.
      • Strong background and experience in health care, education, or other complex nonprofit philanthropic systems.
      • Strong communication, collaboration, & influential, skills. Strong developer of people, strategic, accountable, innovative, and models integrity, ethics and values.
