- Serves as the subject matter expert on APP practice
- Continue to develop and model an overarching APP Service Line within McKesson/PSaS
- Support practices with recruitment and retention-related activities in partnership with business development.
- Partner with APP programs to ensure an adequate candidate pipeline.
- Analyze and compile best practices from The Network and external sources to standardize APP deployment and utilization
- Partner with The Network Strategy Team to represent APP interests and goals during practice strategic planning sessions.
- Develop an APP community from across The Network
- Implement models of care that expand efficiency within the practices utilizing APPs
- Lead project management opportunities during new program implementation.
- Lead cross-functional teams within the corporate umbrella to develop, implement, and measure various APP initiatives
- Work across teams to roll out an APP-optimization dashboard.
- Partner with practices, HR, and compensation to ensure that equitable APP compensation and incentive programs align with practice business goals and lead to APP longevity.
- Demonstrate APP value in a multi-specialty healthcare environment.
- Lead the creation and demonstration of various APP financial tools and models that drive increased APP utilization.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of state regulations and revenue cycle issues that impact successful APP practice.
- Sponsor educational opportunities throughout the year to Network APPs.
- Expand on on-site APP onboarding programs and APP leadership development programs.
- Develop relationships with various societies and other groups focused on expanding APP roles
- Foster relationships with APP leaders outside of McKesson to share best practices and ensure The Network has access to up-to-date APP program delivery options.
- 8+ years of health care experience as an APP (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) in an Oncology setting
- 3+ years of managerial experience at the director level preferred
- Significant prior leadership experience developing and implementing various clinical and business models that support providers and patients.
- Proven track record of successful relationship development with key business stakeholders
- Advanced business and healthcare administration degrees
- Ability to travel up to 30% at times

The Director, Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Services provides leadership, direction, and resource stewardship to The US Oncology Network Advanced Practice Provider workforce and is accountable for overall APP care performance and for aligning APP objectives with The Network’s affiliated practices’ vision and strategy.
He/She has ultimate responsibility for leading and further developing Network strategy for optimally positioning advanced practice providers within new and innovative models of care that increase the value equation for clinical care delivery across all geographies, specialties, and care sites of the organization.
Provides leadership and direction to internal McKesson, as well as affiliated practice leadership teams for developing and implementing pioneering methods to achieve Network goals through high-performing care teams, enhanced integration of APPs, and optimization of APP care operations.
Together with compliance, legal, and human resources at both the corporate and practice level, oversees the adherence to professional standards and regulatory requirements. Establishes and further develops existing educational programs for APPs to increase the availability of providers, ensure top-of-scope practice, and decrease turnover to meet workforce needs, imperatives, and strategic goals.
The ideal candidate will identify and execute on a variety of operational and strategic initiatives that optimize the support of The Network practices with three primary goals namely; 1) strengthening the operational and financial performance of the practices through APP integration 2) further developing an operational and financial framework that positions The US Oncology Network as a preferred employer of APPs practicing in the community oncology/surgery setting and 3) improving the quality of multi-disciplinary high-value care through maximizing the role of the APP within Network practices.

Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of management experience.

In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
Our Base Pay Range for this position
