      This role will lead our annuity distribution team dedicated to our IMO channel. This IMO channel includes two of the top NF partners, Annexus and Amerilife and the perfect candidate will have experience in personal sales, sales management, leadership and the IMO channel. This position will be responsible for managing the existing distribution team, meeting and exceeding sales goals and driving partnership expectations through the established support model.

      This is an H.99 band role.

      Job Description Summary

      As a Director, you’ll be involved in creating and executing sales plans, analyzing sales data, and reporting on sales performance. You will also be expected to collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, product development, and finance, to align our sales objectives with our company vision and mission.

      To be successful as a sales leader, you should have a proven track record of personal sales success, strong leadership and communication skills, and a passion for our products and services. You should also have a strategic mindset, a customer-oriented attitude, and a problem-solving aptitude. The ideal candidate will have a well-established knowledge of the Independent Marketing Organization market, including the key players, products and partners that make up the competitive landscape.

      Job Description

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Develops, directs and implements sales strategy, goals, budgets, territory structure and team compensation.

      • Partners with the sales executives to assess organizational sales capabilities and makes sound recommendations for improving sales effectiveness and execution. Leverages analytics to drive strategy, sales results and influence change.

      • Represents channel on management teams, sub-committees, product development, implementation, administration and other teams. Partners to build cross-channel strategies.

      • Oversees teams hiring processes. Maintains optimal staffing levels, team structure and territory design. Identifies resource and technology needs and deliver solutions.

      • Constructs, forecasts and manages sales activity and pipeline to meet revenue targets and company goals.

      • Establishes and maintains internal and external relationships with industry specialists and visionaries to foster innovation and strategic approach and to maintain position as a leader in the industry.

      • Leads performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow planning, hiring and placement and disciplinary actions.

      • Coaches and mentors reporting associates. Provides timely and effective feedback and guidance.

      • Fulfills registered principal duties by supervising registered representatives and monitoring their correspondence.

      • Analyze partner business plans, sales data and overall market trends, competitors and partner needs to ensure execution and competitive positioning.

      • Communicates and collaborates with key departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment and implementation of necessary projects and support.

      • Lead technology usage and implementation expectations within team, including but not limited to SalesForce, VidYard and other sales efficiencies tools.

      May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

      Reporting Relationships: Reports to AVP, Annuity Specialized Distribution

      Typical Skills and Experiences:

      Education: College degree and industry accreditation preferred.

      License/Certification/Designation: FINRA Series 6/7, Series 24/26, Series 63/66 licenses, Life and Health Insurance. Advanced designation (CFP, CLU, ChFC) preferred.

      Experience: Ten or more years of successful sales leadership experience in financial services products preferred. Sales leadership or direct sales experience in the IMO channel preferred.

      Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with others and cultivate strong relationships. In-depth knowledge of insurance and financial products and the associated sales processes and channels. Ability to successfully apply principles of sales, marketing, and leadership to address most sophisticated sales management opportunities and challenges. Ability to broadly influence. Proven track record of achieving monthly and annual sales goals. Demonstrated experiences representing the company in a professional manner.

      Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

      Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resource Business Partner.

      Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. This position allows for the potential to earn performance-based commissions or incentives that may constitute the majority of target compensation.
