      Summary

      The Director of Asset Performance will be responsible for overseeing and managing all apsects of the onsite business solar, and battery storage operations. Evaluates the overall performance of the company's renewable assets against the original investment model and annual budget. They will analyze profit-and-loss income statements and prepare reports identifying gaps/opportunities, and make recommendations to the Project Management and Business Development team on processes, structure and future investment opportunities. The Director of Asset Performance will be responsible for the facilitation of an effective project transition to the Project Management and the Operations team and will provide guidance on operational strategies to position the company to generate superior financial results. They will monitor asset performance to assist the organization's financial planning and convey learnings to the Business Development team and Senior Leadership to enable future business planning decisions for new product development and new marketing strategies.

      Duties and Responsibilities

      • Develop opportunities for additional projects with existing customers through analysis of their site data and system performance.

      • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Implement and enforce standard operating procedures to mitigate risks associated with solar equipment operations.

      • Responsible for analyzing financial performance of assets on monthly basis, quantify leading drivers of earnings shortfalls/gains with particular focus on production, basis, curtailment, market prices, and operating expenses. Provide regular updates to leadership on findings.

      • Create a standard approach of transitioning projects from Business Development to Project Management and Operations in a consistent way, including documenting key contracts, recommending key metrics to track, and providing input to budgeting process.

      • Apply waste elimination principals to facilitate continuous improvement for each asset. Facilitate problem solving, create/improve standard work, and establish processes to build asset performance into regular business operations, such as developing standard turnover documentation and strengthening due diligence process & financial modeling.

      • Lead implementation of select mitigation measures identified during problem solving, with input from Project Management and Operations, to measurably improve performance and make recommend to develop operational strategies for new and existing assets, with input from Operations, Finance, and Business Development, based on learnings from ongoing asset performance work (e.g. work to do internally vs externally, budgeting assumptions, capabilities to build, etc.).

      • Provide input to Operations and Finance teams during budgeting process for new and existing renewables assets based on due diligence and/or problem solving results.

      • Responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our onsite solar equipment assets, including solar panels, inverters, battery storage, and other related equipment.

      Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

      • Advanced financial modeling skills and ability to analyze data and report out trends and anomalies in asset performance.

      • Strong knowledge of investment concepts, such as risk measurement and management, performance measurement and attribution, diversified investment and capital markets.

      • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships, work cross functional and present complex data to internal and external audiences.

      • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

      • Proficient with financial analysis software.

      Work and Education Requirements

      • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Business. In lieu of a Bachelors Degree, candidate must have 8 years of working experience related to the position.

      • 10 years of experience related to the role.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Masters Degree in Engineering or Business.

      • Professional Engineer preferred.
