Director - Behavioral Health Unit

Job Summary:

• Responsible for administrative operations of the unit
• Oversees the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders
• May be responsible for both inpatient and outpatient treatment services
• Partnership with the unit nursing director for department operations and development of services and the staff
• Leads and directs the work of others including supervision of social workers and therapists
• Understanding how patient flow and census impacts the success and sustainability of the unit
• Reports to the executive leadership at the hospital on overall operations of the unit
• Liaison with community partners to make services more accessible
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in human services, healthcare or healthcare/business administration required
• 7+ years of experience in the behavioral health field
• Leadership experience in a hospital or inpatient setting preferred
• Understanding of evidence-based treatment planning
• Experience with regulations and accreditation that governs services provided by the behavioral health unit
• Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
