      JOB SUMMARY

      IPG Photonics is a world leader in lasers and optics-based solutions for industry. Our products are rapidly gaining adoption in new and diverse markets, while our core markets continue to grow. Our expansion drives a requirement to strengthen and standardize IPG’s market analysis. The newly established role of Director, Business and Marketing Analytics Strategy will drive IPG Photonics’ strategic planning process and oversee the collection of best-in-class market intelligence to provide actionable insights to key decision makers. The successful candidate will partner with Sales, Product Management, Investor Relations and M&A teams as a key player who molds and influences IPG’s strategy and execution.       JOB FUNCTIONS

      Duties/Responsibilities:

      • Owner of IPG’s strategic planning process.
      • Primarily responsible for developing, executing and disseminating actionable market intelligence and insights to business units, M&A, Investor Relations while supporting Board of Director presentations.
      • Operate independently and cross-functionally to solicit and systematically gather relevant input from IPG colleagues (including Sales, Product Line Managers, R&D, M&A and Investor Relations) and customers. Gather, aggregate, analyze and interpret these data, along with secondary research and publicly available information to create actionable market intelligence.
      • Provide consistently excellent business and market analysis over IPG’s diverse segments and application spaces by drawing conclusions relevant to the company’s products, markets, customers and competitive environment, while fielding requests from IPG colleagues for specific market data to support Business Cases, Competitive Intelligence gathering and other corporate processes.
      • Define and maintain standard formats for the presentation of market data, including TAM/SAM analysis, market share, CAGR, trends, Mekko charts and other common tools and metrics, as standardized templates and market presentation are required to streamline internal communication and allow decision makers to compare IPG’s disparate markets. Ensure our company has a lean, automated toolbox for market analysis and presentation.
      • Develop partnerships with IPG’s business leaders and other decision makers.
      • Participate in Industry Market Forums and engage Market Research providers, while independently accessing available information from Trade Journals, Conferences and on-line sources.

      Qualifications

      REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

      Education and Experience:

      • MBA degree preferred. Bachelors in Marketing, Management, or a Technical degree preferred.
      • Significant experience developing business strategies for global high technology markets.
      • Minimum of 3-5 years post-MBA experience as a management consultant.
      • Minimum 5-10 years corporate experience with sales, finance or a combination of functions with significant exposure to high tech markets.

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Excellence understanding of market/competitive dynamics and proven record of accomplishments utilizing strong analytic capabilities.
      • Strategic thinker, self-starter, and results oriented.
      • Excellent business acumen.
      • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, as well as oral and written communication skills.
      • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, seamlessly moving between strategy and execution.
      • Ability to work in a rapidly changing, matrixed environment.
      • Exceptional presentation skills applicable to the audience with concise messaging.
      • History of presenting recommendations and securing buy-in from senior executives.
      • Focused, persistent and detail oriented; works efficiently to meet all deadlines and deliverables.
      • An excellent work ethic and strong interpersonal skills are mandatory to support daily contact with IPG customers and colleagues across the globe.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience with management consulting and/or in photonics or high-tech manufacturing industries.

      Physical Requirements:

      • Essential physical requirements, such as standing, stooping, or typing
      • Travel requirements: 15%
