Leads the Business Development Operations team who will train, organize, equip and support our division-aligned business development teams in their efforts to achieve future growth.
Maintains the AS BD “homeroom,” identifies and promotes the best BD practices through training, and tools (primarily digital).
Act as the POC for NGAS on business development processes and tools to internal and external requests.
Defines BD roles and responsibilities, and maintains clarity relative to other adjacent functions, with particular attention on handoff points.
Creates and maintains a structured system to support career progression across the BD Function.
Creates products, templates and tools to enable consistent, repeatable BD processes for BD team supporting P&L leaders throughout the Sector.
Leads Continuous process improvement of the processes the BD professional follows taking Corporate, other sector, and internal feedback to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Creates and maintains a system to continuously collect data on business development to enable ongoing learning and improvement.
Promulgates and maintains NGAS guidance on BAP implementation; develops supporting processes as required, maintains visibility on process rigor and execution.
Works closely with NGAS Strategy and Business Management leaders to align strategic, market, and business objectives and execution across the Sector.
Supports development of sector new business pipeline, sector pipeline analysis and reporting, and identification, deployment and adoption of tools across the Business Acquisition Thread.
Develops and maintains processes to identify and support Sector-level priority growth opportunities.
Leads sector implementation of BD best practices, including engagement planning, knowledge management and info sharing, rigorous opportunity management through the NGC Business Acquisition Process (BAP), and overall sector pipeline management.
Coordinates with other NGAS and One NG stakeholders to share best practices, support enterprise BD efforts, and ensure effective, results-driven unity of effort
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university and 12+ years' related experience – OR – a Master’s degree and 10 years’ related experience.
Have had previous experience managing a function in any discipline.
Must be willing and able to travel as required (estimate 25%).
Proven team leadership experience of BD and/or Capture following a rigorous business acquisition process in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
Thorough knowledge of government procurement and business development processes: identification, qualification, capture and bid activities.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills with Aerospace and Defense industry and domestic and/or international customers.
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills briefing/white paper preparation and delivery, and developing/delivering executive level briefings.
Demonstrated ability to use tools for customer relationship management, and pipeline management.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Familiar with military aeronautics market and industry, including US and non-US customer missions and acquisition approaches.
Experience using CRM and Pipeline Management systems (ideally Salesforce).
Outstanding skills in executive level briefings.
Experience leading and managing geographically dispersed teams.
Experience in program planning, budget development and execution; contracting, workforce staffing, risk management, and the implementation of project processes and controls.
Current/active Top Secret security clearance.

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Business Development Operations Director to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA, Falls Church, VA or Melbourne, FL.

Melbourne, FL - $ 197,500.00 - 296,300.00
Redondo Beach, CA / Falls Church, VA - $228,700.00 - $343,100.00
Salary Range: $197,500.00 - $343,100.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
