      How will you make an impact in this role?

      The GCS Marketing Analytics, Investment & Marketing Enablement team, as part of Global Commercial Services within American Express, is responsible for overseeing marketing analytics, data products, data platforms, investment optimization and marketing enablement specific to the Global Commercial Services (GCS) business.

      Reporting to the Senior Vice President Analytics, Investment & Marketing Enablement (AIM), the position Director, Strategy & Planning will act as the Chief of Staff and a key member of the Leadership Team, leading and implementing critical strategic and day-to-day operational functions globally for the office, including operational initiatives, business planning and analytics, financials, communications, and special strategic projects. You will be a critical member of the dynamic and fast-paced environment and an ambassador and advocate for the team and mission. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, tenacious, and not afraid of the detail – they must have a demonstrated ability in influencing, great collaborative mindset, and strong relationship management with senior leaders.

      Key responsibilities include:

      • Support SVP with overall planning, management and strategy development for the department including enhancing organizational performance and employee engagement
      • Actively participate in the colleague engagement strategy and support initiatives across the team
      • Balance the management of day-to-day business priorities along with long-term strategic deliverables.
      • Proven project management and organizational skills with impressive attention to detail and comfortable in working with data and analytics.
      • Provide thought leadership on organizational effectiveness, goals, and strategies.
      • Manage team meetings, including designing and coordinating content and agendas for leadership meetings and town halls for the Analytics, Investment & Marketing Enablement organization
      • Create executive level presentations for both internal and external audiences, as well as help coordinate updates with senior leaders
      • Assist in business planning, organizational planning and day to day operational processes for AIM, including approval processes, scorecards, measurement, employee on/off-boarding, schedules, templates, meetings, market visits and offsites.
      • Serve as a central point of contact for internal partners across the Blue Box and represent the team in company-wide initiatives
      • Budget management for OPEX/ACU, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting
      • Conduct special analytical requests as needed

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience
      • Bachelor’s degree
      • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking acumen to solve unstructured and complex business problems and articulate key findings to senior leaders/stakeholders in a succinct and concise manner
      • Extremely strong strategic communication skills (written, oral, PowerPoint creation)
      • Effective at building relationships and influencing partners at all levels without authority
      • Good judgment and intuition to set direction in ambiguous, unstructured situations
      • Organizational savviness, and ability to navigate a complex matrix structure
      • Proven track record of successfully navigating large, cross-functional organizations and complex processes
      • Ability to engage professionally/maintain positive attitude in changing circumstances
      • Flexible and adaptable; able to re-prioritize and multi-task based on the tasks at hand
      • High level of integrity required for handling confidential information
      • Ability to project-manage effectively, manage several concurrent projects through collaboration across teams/geographies
      • Motivated self-starter with the ability to lead projects with limited guidance
      • Thought leader who can balance the strategic “big picture” with tactical execution
      • Collaborative team player who is able to work across band-levels and organizations to drive results
      • Analytical problem solver who is solution-oriented; able to break down complex ideas into easy-to-understand messages

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Master's Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Finance, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics)
      • Ability to learn and quickly adapt around ever evolving analytics landscape is preferred
      • Experience in data analytics is a plus
      • Basic knowledge of statistical techniques like hypothesis testing, regression, knn, ttest, chi-square test is a plus

      Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits

      The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
