- Retaining personal accountability for, and oversight of, your team’s risk performance across AML, operational, conduct, and regulatory risk expectations
- Business development / sales / origination experience
- Experience in a client-facing environment (b2b ideal)
- Experience of relationship / portfolio management within a b2b environment
- Corporate and commercial banking experience
- People management and leadership skills
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus
- We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer
- 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year

Commercial Direct provides centralised relationship management to a large portfolio of active Corporate & Commercial Banking (CCB) clients. Most of the team are based in Liverpool and Glasgow.
You’ll be joining the team at Director level to contribute to our business growth, client satisfaction, people development, and risk management objectives. You’ll do this through a combination of delivering through others; you’ll be leading and managing a team of S2 Relationship Managers, and your own business development, new-to-bank origination and high value relationship management contribution as an individual.
As a leader within Commercial Direct you’ll treat every colleague as a valued individual, monitor performance and development, and actively collaborate as a team to achieve our goals. Working closely with the Head, Commercial Direct (to whom you’ll report) you’ll contribute to the delivery of CCB’s strategy, looking to grow Santander’s brand & market share within the SME market.
Within Commercial Direct we collaborate closely, utilising the best digital channels and data-led insight, to ensure our clients and prospects receive outstanding service – your support will directly contribute to the success and prosperity of these UK businesses.

Our preferred location for this role is Liverpool and current expectation is at least 2 days in an office every week.
