- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic internal and external communications to support the organization’s mandate, vision, purpose, and priorities.
- Work with colleagues across the organization to enhance the organization’s profile and among key stakeholders including media, government, and industry partners.
- Support the development and management of the company’s narrative including the development and refinement of key messages and communications materials.
- Speech writing, thought leadership content development and writing on behalf of senior leadership.
- Protect the Parkbridge brand and reputation and provide effective cross-functional leadership in any crisis or issues management situation.
- Manage, develop, and grow a small talented team and work closely with QuadReal peers.
- Collaborate and work with QuadReal and its partners.
- Develop and lead the successful execution of a proactive media relations strategy that is fully integrated with the organizations strategic plan, goals, and objectives.
- Align stakeholder activities (government, industry associations, real estate partners) to support the delivery of business priorities and engage key audiences effectively.
- Increase awareness of Parkbridge through an earned media program and thought leadership program, working in collaboration with the rest of the team.
- Lead and manage media enquiries and represent Parkbridge to a broad stakeholder group by acting as an effective media spokesperson, when required.
- Identify and assess relevant media issues, news, and events by proactively monitoring industry and market-related news.
- Provide strategic counsel and advice to senior management and spokespeople on their interactions with media and at conferences.
- Leverage research insights and analytics to drive communications activities and track results.
- Manage key external agency relationships and build strategic alliances with partners, as required.
- Develop and deploy a useful/actionable metrics to gauge success across communications.
- Support the budgeting process and assume on-going accountability for operational expenses.
- Motivate team to achieve goals, drive accountability and celebrate success.
- Lead, manage and be accountable for the communications team; this includes ongoing coaching, mentoring, and development of employees.
- Conduct regular meetings with the team to review priorities and provide feedback, inspiration, and recognition.
- Lead and Administration of Parkbridge people management systems; Dayforce (HIRS) tasks, compensation practices, performance management/employee relations, and support/follow Parkbridge policies.
- A seasoned communications professional with a minimum of 10 years’ experience with strong media and stakeholder relations expertise.
- Bachelor’s Degree or a post-secondary diploma in communications, marketing, business, journalism, or a related discipline
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of eight years or more of progressively responsible experience in a designated communication, corporate affairs, public relations, government relations or public information position.
- Ability to work across both internal and external channels, with content development experience and exceptional writing skills.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, coach, and motivate a high performing team.
- Have a strategic mindset with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement multifaceted communications plans across multiple jurisdictions.
- Comfort and experience interacting with senior leaders and demonstrated ability to effectively influence organizational strategy.
- Track record of building and leading a high-performance team with the ability to nurture and grow talent and peers.
- Demonstrated success in assuming a spokesperson role, effectively representing an organization’s position.
- A service and partnership orientated approach to dealing with internal stakeholders.
- A willingness to share different perspectives to contribute to new ways to go beyond expectations.
- A willingness to be flexible to accommodate colleagues across multiple time zones.
- Entrepreneurial approach and comfort with ambiguity.
- Experience in an agency or government environment is an asset.
- Real estate experience is helpful, but not essential.
- Bilingual French is also an asset.

Role Description
The Director, Communications be responsible for creating compelling external and internal communications that support Parkbridge’s portfolio and operations and enhances its reputation and brand. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader that will work with senior executives and key stakeholders to build awareness of our residential portfolio and increase understanding of the land lease model as a housing option across Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for corporate and internal communications, as well as traditional and social media. This candidate is a leader and a doer, with the ability to take initiative to more the organization forward effectively.
