      The Director of Community and Stakeholder Engagement will be responsible for developing and executing hyper-local community strategies that align with our enterprise community strategy. This role will centralize regional community initiatives within the Community & Stakeholder Engagement Team, foster partnerships with Stores and Field Regional SVPs/GVPs, support Field grantmaking efforts and lead local community engagement events and initiatives. Additionally, the Director will manage and amplify our non-profit relationships, working closely with headquarters teams to bring these partnerships to life.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Develop Hyper-Local Community Strategies: Build and implement community engagement strategies that cater to local needs while supporting the broader enterprise community strategy.

      • Centralize Regional Community Initiatives: Centralize regional initiatives within the Community & Stakeholder Engagement Team to ensure consistency and alignment to our Community strategy

      • Belonging in Action: Foster opportunities to demonstrate belonging in action for our team, guest, and communities through our hyper-local community activations.

      • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for community engagement initiatives.

      • Partnership Management: Collaborate directly with Stores and Field SVPs/GVPs to lead and support local community engagement events and initiatives.

      • Non-Profit Relationships: Own and enhance our relationships with non-profit and community organizations, working with leaders and community captains to effectively integrate these partnerships into our community engagement efforts.

      • Event Leadership: Plan, organize, and execute community engagement events that foster strong local connections, team member volunteerism and support our community goals.

      • Team Leadership: lead a highly engaged, diverse team that will activate community engagement within our key regions & markets.

      About You:

      • Four-year degree in Communications, Public Relations, Non-Profit Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience

      • 7-10 years of experience in leadership roles, stakeholder engagement, philanthropy, HR or related fields, with a proven track record of building and managing relationships with senior leaders, external stakeholders, and community organizations.

      • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful community engagement strategies.

      • Strong leadership and team management skills.

      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

      • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

      • Experience in managing non-profit relationships and partnerships.

      This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
