- Develop strategic partnerships to identify opportunities for Content Studio to deliver value-add, innovative creative services
- Effectively speak to and champion Content Studio’s services (including design, copy and strategy) and skillfully present work to clients and other stakeholders
- Identify additional creative service offerings and develop plans to bring them to our clients
- Build trust and nurture productive relationships with Content Studio’s agency partners
- Act as a connecter between Content Studio creatives, GSK marketing and business teams, internal and external agency partners
- Participate in strategic and operational planning for all business areas to identify:
- Creative projects to bring into Content Studio for execution, where doing so represents a value-add to the business
- Opportunities for Content Studio to partner with or advise vendor agencies and marketing teams to improve agency performance, efficiency and/or elevate content quality and impact.
- Work with brand and business leads on an ongoing basis to track changes in strategic and operational content plans, assess the impact of those changes to resource needs and/or identify any new opportunities and growth needs for Content Studio.
- Serve as the primary business contact to Content Studio internal clients: lead and manage client communications, manage expectations, resolve conflicts and ensure that all client issues are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner. The studio manager is responsible for client satisfaction.
- Communicate business goals and represent plans for activating and achieving those goals to the internal team.
- Facilitate regular two-way communication with the business owners, to provide strong team representation and set proper client expectations.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of Content Studio standards for quality of service, speed of delivery, and ensure adherence to those standards by the creative team.
- Oversee all studio activity to ensure client needs, creative goals, and content studio quality standards, are met.
- Contribute insights and guidance for design and efficiency based on overall brand objectives, coaching creative team leads to produce their best work.
- Build a strong and positive working relationship with creative teams to review challenges, overcome obstacles, resolve issues, and provide solutions.
- Prepare briefing documents, project and resourcing plans for Content Studio brand needs, and lead client project- and resource-related meetings with internal teams.
- Work closely with functional leads from design, copy, production and deployment teams to maintain a continuous, high-level knowledge of project volume, to identify potential issues and/or opportunities.
- Actively advise on all budgets and provide solutions for resources in support of the studio.
- Contribute to strategic direction-setting, process and policy definition, forecasting, resource planning, hiring, the acquisition of systems and assets, and other activities that relate to the ongoing development of Content Studio.
- Work with US Commercial Strategic Operations & Capabilities leadership to set business goals and objectives for Content Studio, and ensure those goals and objectives are reached.
- Assess client feedback and industry best practices to continuously improve Content Studio’s offering and delivery.
- Contribute to the professional development of Content Studio creative talent, working with SOC leadership to help ensure all studio personnel gain the knowledge they need to be successful.
- Build and maintain a strong team. Support the professional growth of the team through coaching, mentoring and development opportunities to increase business acumen.
- Drive performance improvement and innovation and identify and monitor KPIs.
- Support additional business needs as they arise.
- 5+ years of experience leading a large, multidisciplinary creative team at an agency or in-house creative department.
- Minimum of 5 years of creative tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, XD, Illustrator), Figma, and global design systems and web development.
- Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Strong vendor and client management and communication skills with results-oriented approach.
- Well-developed situational awareness and keen interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact effectively and professionally at all levels within the organization and with external partners.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple initiatives, objectives and priorities and delivering viable solutions in a fast-paced environment with changing business needs.
- Experience working in a matrix organization, across businesses and at all levels of the organization.
- Well-organized, with excellent follow-through and strong commitment to team accountability and quality.
- Ability to use data and insights to measure the performance of design efforts to help determine and provide improvement and innovation opportunities back to the business.
- Keen awareness and ability to manage team dynamics, resource constraints and performance KPIs.
- Deep knowledge of FDA guidelines in relation to pharmaceutical marketing practices in all digital channels a strong plus.
- Deep knowledge and experience with digital production requirements and processes.
- Experience with content management systems, taxonomy and project management tools (e.g. Smartsheet, Jira, etc.).
This role is responsible for embedding and operationalizing Content Studio, the GSK US internal agency, and for the strategy, integration, and execution of Content Studio design activities for assigned business units and/or therapeutic areas. The content studio director plays a key role in leading a multi-disciplinary creative team in the development and execution of innovative, high-quality creative assets and unique experiences that engage customers; deliver on the strategy of our businesses in the marketplace; and capture the hearts, minds, and loyalty of HCPs and patients.
