      Responsibilities

      The Director of Corporate Communications for Europe will lead external communications efforts across all external channels, principally focused on PR, covering ten European countries, four pan-European asset classes, and our European investment management business to advance Hines’ brand and reputation with our key audiences. The role supports the creation and delivery of our European external communications strategy and plan; promotes, protects and defend the businesses' reputation; and manages the delivery of external communications activity across a range of businesses, topics, themes and channels. The role sits within the European MarCom team which supports Hines’ platform in Europe. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

      • Provide a broad range of Corporate Communications support to Hines in Europe, including the firm’s assets and projects, and its funds and capital raising efforts in the region.

      • Collaborate with the broader MarCom team in Europe, and colleagues in the United States, on integrated campaigns and brand-led efforts, across multiple channels.

      • With the European MarCom MD, lead the development of a multi-channel communications strategy for Europe that is aligned with the geography’s business goals and audiences, to include:

        • Planning documents which target multiple stakeholder groups, including media

        • Editorial and sponsored opportunities

        • Speaker events

        • Awards

        • Digital channels

      • Establish and maintain target media relationships.

      • Write press releases, commentaries, statements, and Q&A documents ensuring messaging consistency in all materials and draft concise talking points.

      • Develop pan-European messaging

      • Support on issues management providing advice and written materials.

      • Collaborate with the retained European PR agency and other agency partners in European countries.

      • Track and report on coverage results, as needed.

      • At times, this role may be required to deputize for the MD of the team.

      Qualifications

      Minimum Requirements include:

      • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; further study in communications or marketing preferred.

      • Ten or more years of corporate communications experience.

      • Financial Services/Asset Management/Fund Management experience is essential.

      • Demonstrate established relationships with editors, reporters, opinion-formers and columnists at tier-one financial news outlets - primarily Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, and the Financial Times and financial trades in the PEI Media Group and other pensions trades.

      • Proactive and reactive media relations gained either in agency or in-house, covering a pacey news environment.

      • Formulating and executing creative campaigns and press office activity to build advocacy and reputation.

      • Experience of handling sensitive issues and crisis management.

      • Listed company experience is preferred.

      • Knowledge of real estate / real assets a plus.

      • Interest and appreciation for brand strategy, urban environment, design and architecture a plus.

      • Fluency in English. Knowledge of additional European language preferred.

      • Exceptional written and oral communications skills.

      • Bring a strong understanding of corporate news flow and media agenda, providing insights for colleagues to help shape their approach and strategy.

      • Exceptional technology skills – not limited to MS Office, but also with media monitoring platforms like Meltwater, social media platforms like Canva, team management platforms like Monday.com; web experience etc.

      • Meticulous attention to detail, organization, and time management.

      • Strength in balancing strategy with application and implementation.

      • Experience working independently toward goals, communicating effectively and clearly with colleagues.

      • Ability to lead multiple high-profile and complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.

      • You will be working on a hybrid basis of 3-4 days per week in our brand-new European HQ in Covent Garden and the remainder at home.

      • Travel will be required about 10-20% of the time.

      • Work overtime as required.
