      Job Description

      Our new Director will report to the AVP Residential and Retail Credit Risk Management and will provide support to key partners relating to Credit Risk escalations and questions, provide regular reporting to senior leaders, complete analysis on potential credit trends, support process improvements and efficiencies throughout the Credit Risk Department.

      Key Individual Accountabilities:

      • Act as a point person for file escalations and suggest changes to the structuring of transactions to strengthen the company’s position as needed. Provide guidance on deal structure with a view to ensuring a smooth authorization process.
      • Provide credit card related monitoring and reporting and participate in the design and approval of targeted campaigns.
      • Provide oversight and act as a liaison to the Broker vendor partner to ensure further success of the partnership.
      • Collaborate and participate with the Lines of Business on all new residential and retail credit product development initiatives.
      • Provide consultative credit risk oversight to the specific Lines of Business, including, residential mortgage underwriting, investment lending, collections, Legal, credit card origination and account management strategies.
      • Promote a risk-aware culture that encourages and rewards desired risk outcomes and quality of decision making. Provide constructive feedback, advice, and guidance on residential and retail credit risk issues.

      Key Shared Accountabilities:

      • Collaborate and act as a liaison between the various business partners to gain further success in the risk partnership. Suggest changes to the structuring of transactions to strengthen the company’s position in case of default. Provide advice and guidance to colleagues on credit risk issues.
      • Support the internal and external audit process and liaise as appropriate with various stakeholders and regulators. Ensure satisfactory audits from internal and external sources.
      • Actively support and assist in the development and execution of the Bank’s strategic priorities, including the establishment, and periodic review of the Bank’s risk appetite for residential and retail credit risk. Provide timely and appropriate risk input to all consumer growth initiatives.
      • Proactively develop and maintain economic, market and competitive intelligence impacting the outlook for residential and retail credit, and the consequent implications for the underlying credit risk.

      Job Requirements:

      • Minimum 5+ years of progressive credit risk, underwriting and adjudication experience within Residential Lending.
      • Knowledge of Specialized/Commercial and Retail Lending.
      • University degree in Business or Finance.
      • Bilingual (French & English) would be an asset.

      • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to assimilate and interpret analyses and trends to reach conclusions regarding the type and magnitude of risk associated with various clients, industries and products.
      • Demonstrated collaboration expertise with the proven ability to foster positive and productive outcomes to ensure adverse credit decisions are addressed professionally, effectively and efficiently.
      • Strong communication skills.
      • Highest level of professionalism, self-motivation and sense of urgency with the ability to work successfully with minimal supervision.
      • High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

      Salary & Benefits

      The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

      Primary Location

      Toronto, Ontario

      Salary range is expected to be between

      $103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CAD
