      We're in search of a seasoned, dynamic professional to fill the role of Director of Cyber Security Operations. The ideal candidate will lead our cyber security operations team, threat intelligence and vulnerability management to ensure the integrity of our organization's information systems, networks, and data.

      Minimum Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field

      • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or other relevant certifications preferred

      • Demonstrated leadership in a cyber security operations team, showcasing a track record of effectively managing and inspiring a diverse team of professionals

      • Comprehensive understanding of cyber security principles, techniques, and technologies, encompassing intrusion detection/prevention, firewall management, threat intelligence, and incident response

      • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to cyber security, such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework

      • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, adept at articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders with clarity and precision

      • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security risks

      Responsibilities:

      • Guide and oversee a team of cyber security professionals, offering mentorship, support, and direction to foster both effective performance and professional development

      • Develop and enact cyber security strategies, policies, and procedures to protect organizational assets and mitigate risks across cyber security operations, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management

      • Manage the daily operations of the cyber security team, including incident response, investigations, vulnerability management, threat intelligence utilization, and security control implementation

      • Collaborate with other departments to identify security requirements, assess risks, and implement appropriate security measures

      • Remain current on the latest cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices, actively enhancing the organization's security posture through continuous improvement

      • Perform routine security assessments and audits to pinpoint weaknesses and vulnerabilities within the organization's infrastructure and systems

      • Foster and maintain relationships with external vendors, contractors, and partners engaged in cyber security operations, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and service level agreements

      • Compile and deliver periodic reports to senior management on the organization's cyber security status, encompassing key metrics, incident updates, and remediation progress

      Location and other Key Details:

      • This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.

      • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday

      • This position is security sensitive which requires you to clear a criminal history check

      • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
