Develop and implement a data governance framework aligned with the enterprise data strategy, regulatory compliance, and health system priorities.
Lead the Data Governance Councils and related working groups to drive policy, standards, and stewardship practices.
Lead and/or participate in data related initiatives such as Inventory, Quality, Fluency, and Executive programs.
Establish and oversee data stewardship programs to ensure accountability for data quality, metadata, lineage, master data management, and analytics.
Define and monitor enterprise metrics, data strategy key performance indicators, data quality metrics and remediation processes across departments.
Ensure adherence to HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare data privacy and security regulations.
Collaborate with compliance, legal, and IT security teams to manage data access, classification, and lifecycle policies.
Partner with clinical, research, and operational leaders to promote data literacy and responsible data use.
Support self-service analytics and data democratization while maintaining governance controls.
Work with IT and data platform teams to embed governance into data architecture, including metadata management, interoperability (FHIR, HL7), and data cataloging tools.
Evaluate and implement governance technologies and automation to scale governance practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Informatics, Information Systems, Public Health, or a related field. Will consider relevant experience in lieu of education requirement.
10+ years of experience in data management, data governance, data programs, data quality, or other data, analytics or AI related disciplines.
5+ years of leadership experience
Proven leadership in developing and operationalizing data governance programs.
Experience leading programs and projects in complex, multi-disciplinary environments, including strong skills in communication and relationship management, and a demonstrated ability to mentor and lead cross-functional teams.
Understanding of data architecture, standards, regulatory frameworks, data privacy, security, and quality.
Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) and modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS).
Familiarity with healthcare and rehabilitation clinical workflows and scientific research and development data domains.
Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).
Experience with data literacy programs and change management.
Knowledge of AI/ML governance and ethical data use in healthcare.
Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.

Job Description Summary
The Director of Data Governance will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive data and AI governance strategy, data and AI programs, and leadership committees partnering with clinical, research, operations, marketing, finance, and administrative departments. This role ensures the integrity, security, accessibility, and quality of enterprise data assets across all organizational and data domains. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional leaders to align the data strategy with institutional goals, regulatory requirements, and innovation in patient care and rehabilitation sciences.
This role is central to transforming how clinical, operational, research, and patient data are managed and integrated with our next-generation healthcare data platform to enhance outcomes, improve care, and advance SRAlab’s global innovative leadership standing. Our data strategy is focused on an ecosystem that supports advanced analytics, AI/ML, and complex health initiatives that align with SRAlab’s mission to revolutionize rehabilitation. Pay Range: $149,068.00 annually - $305,000.00 annually
