Job Description

- Lead data operations team responsible for the following tasks supporting administration and client policy reporting:
- Design Alteryx workflows to load client reported data into the business application.
- Create ETL business rules to transform client reported data into a common format
- Ensure data integrity and processes within all GFS platforms and with areas outside of GFS.
- Establish and track Service Level Agreements with downstream stakeholders for delivery of client reported data
- Manage testing and production pipelines to deploy ETL code in accordance with company standards and compliance.
- Works across GFS Business as well as Corporate Partners in Valuation and Finance to identify and resolve problems/issues. Develops relationships with client companies and seeks resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Oversee and set direction for team regarding development and implementation of process improvements that may extend beyond area of oversight and with the approval of Operations leadership.
- Champion the future vision of the department and assist in creation/maintenance of data repository documentation and data standards and guidelines
- Assists in planning, resourcing, and goal setting and ensuring the objectives of the department are met.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Actuarial Science or a related degree, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years experience in data analysis, IT -related experience, insurance, financial services
- 2+ years experience in leadership or project lead role
- 2+ years Experience with Alteryx, Tableau, and/or ETL tools
- Intermediate Word, Excel, VBA and SQL/Query skills
- Advanced level of investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
- Detailed oriented, passionate about completing the task correctly rather than quickly
- Advanced oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge
- Advanced ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines
- Familiarity with insurance administrative systems, ability to calculate benefits under multiple structures, and basic understanding of how the data affects liabilities and financial results
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and individually
- Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions.
- Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management
- Ability to interpret and understand various client data formats
- Broad business knowledge, including knowledge of valuation, finance, and/or administrative systems
- Advanced ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously; Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Willingness to learn new skills and software applications
- Ability to customize a process for testing that can be repeated by others if needed
- Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines
- 10+ years IT-related experience, such as Business Analysis, Data Analysis, etc.
- 2+ years Life Insurance industry knowledge
- Experience with MDM and / or Data Governance implementations
- Experience with Alteryx, Tableau
- Advanced-to-expert knowledge of database application such as Access, SQL Server, or Oracle as well as SQL
- Complex analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with data management and or visualization tools such as (Tableau, Alteryx, Informatica, Python, etc.)
- Demonstrated management experience
- Insurance industry knowledge
