      Job Description Summary

      The Director of Data Platform Architecture will lead the design, implementation, and operation of SRAlab’s next-generation healthcare data platform. This role is central to transforming how clinical, operational, research, and patient data are managed and integrated to enhance outcomes, improve care, and advance SRAlab’s global innovative leadership standing.

      The Director will architect a secure, scalable, and interoperable data ecosystem that supports advanced analytics, AI/ML, and complex health initiatives aligned with SRAlab’s mission to revolutionize rehabilitation. This platform will enable enterprise-wide decision-making and deliver timely, high-quality, and accessible data.

      Technical expertise along with collaboration is key, as the Director will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to understand and meet diverse information needs. It is important to align with data governance, deploy engineering resources and technologies, and support advanced analytics techniques such as natural language processing, machine learning, internet of things, artificial intelligence, and predictive models. All the while, advancing and growing the technical skills of the team to accomplish our goals.

      This role is critical to SRAlab’s mission by enabling transformative clinical care, operational efficiency, and innovative translational research.       Principal Responsibilities

      Leadership & Collaboration

      • Define and execute the data platform strategy aligned with the enterprise data strategy and the organizational priorities highlighting patient outcomes, innovative research and operational efficiency.

      • Lead the enterprise data and analytics platform, including oversight of resource allocations to ensure efficient use of funds, alignment with operational demand, and strategic platform development to support clinical, operational, and research future growth.

      • Manage, mentor, and grow data engineering teams, fostering skill development, service excellence, and strong cross-functional relationships across SRAlab.

      • Collaborate with leadership across the organization to ensure data technology initiatives align with governance, data-as-a-product, data literacy, and adherence to healthcare regulations.

      Innovation & Technology

      • Architect a unified data platform integrating EHRs, claims, imaging, genomics, research, IoT, (sensors, wearables, robotics), financial, employee, and other third-party healthcare data.

      • Design secure, HIPAA-compliant data lakehouses and real-time streaming architectures as well as frameworks for data governance, interoperability (FHIR, HL7), master data management, metadata, lineage, and data quality.

      • Oversee the development of scalable data pipelines and services using modern technologies, ensuring platform reliability, observability, and cost-efficiency in cloud and hybrid environments, further optimizing major data source systems, ensuring high data fidelity and AI readiness.

      • Drive automation across the data engineering lifecycle, enabling self-service analytics and data science capabilities as well as performing other responsibilities as needed in support of SRAlab’s mission and strategic objectives.

      Reporting Relationships

      Reports to the Vice President, Data and Analytics and manages the Platform Data Engineering team.

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

      Education:

      • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.

      Qualifications/Experience:

      • 10+ years of experience in data architecture or platform engineering, with 2+ years in a complex technical environment.

      • 2-3 years of leadership experience, including two in healthcare IT, with a proven ability to align technical strategies to organizational priorities.

      • Proven track record of leading enterprise-scale data platform initiatives in regulated environments.

      • Experience with cloud-native data platforms and tools (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Talend, Airflow, AWS, Kafka, Azure, GCP, Spark).

      • Exceptional leadership, communication, and management skills.

      Preferred/Optional:

      • Deep knowledge of healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7, ICD-10, SNOMED, LOINC) and data privacy, security, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, HITRUST, 21st Century Cures Act).

      • Expertise in deploying modern data platforms with demonstrated success in implementing innovative, technical strategies for AI/ML platforms in academic healthcare settings.

      • Experience leading analytics teams in complex, multi-disciplinary environments, including strong skills in communication and relationship management, and a demonstrated ability to mentor and lead cross-functional teams

      • Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or healthcare IT (e.g., CHDA, CPHIMS, CAP).

      Working Conditions

      • Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.

      Pay and Benefits*:

      Pay Range: $149,068.00 annually - $305,000.00 annually
