      Mastercard is seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Data Science to joinour team Hub. In this leadership role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future of commerce globally. As a key member of the team, you will lead a group of talented data scientists & engineers in developing and implementing innovative data solutions that align with our commitment to an inclusive digital economy.

      Title: Director of Data Science

      Responsibilities:
      •Lead and manage a team of data scientists, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
      •Utilize analytics, statistical software, and database technologies such as Python, SQL, R, Spark, Hadoop, and others to lead the analysis, review, and interpretation of complex data.
      •Employ a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms, ensuring optimal value extraction from the data.
      •Oversee the development and maintenance of production-ready machine-learning models, ensuring their alignment with business objectives.
      •Identify key drivers of patterns and behaviors uncovered in data, providing strategic insights to drive business decision-making.
      •Collaborate with subject-matter experts to explore business problems, design data-driven solutions, and contribute to overall business strategy.
      •Present analysis and interpretation to both technical and non-technical stakeholders for operational and business review and planning.
      •Support short and long-term operational and strategic business activities through insightful data analysis.
      •Develop recommended business solutions through thorough research and analysis of data and business processes, implementing solutions when appropriate.

      Skills:
      •Proven experience in people management and team leadership.
      •Strong experience with relational databases and Spark/PySpark.
      •Demonstrated success in developing and overseeing the implementation of machine learning models.
      •Comprehensive data science skill set, including exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model fitting, tuning, evaluation, and comparison.
      •Proficiency with common open source ML libraries, especially with Python or R.
      •Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both clients and business stakeholders, both in writing and verbally.

      Qualifications:
      •Degree in Analytics, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field with a significant quantitative aspect.

      Nice to Have:
      •Proven experience in at least one data visualization tool for displaying and exploring analytic results, such as Plotly, R Shiny, Matplotlib, or similar.
      •Previous experience within Financial Services.
