  Job Title: Director of Engineering

  Location: Medford, OR, Kingman, AZ or Alpha, NJ
  Reports To: VP – Operations and Engineering
  Department: LG&E

  Scope: $ 30MM annual capital spend

  Position Summary:

  The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading and managing engineering projects from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, budget constraints, and operational excellence. This role oversees cross-functional engineering teams, collaborates closely with manufacturing plant leadership and personnel, and presents strategic insights and project outcomes to executive leadership.

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership & Execution
  • Direct and manage multiple engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets, resource allocation, and timelines.
  • Drive standardization of best practices in project management and engineering methodologies.
  • Provide technical support to Linde’s global electronics organization.
  • Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and technical staff.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support career development initiatives.
  • Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Be a visible leader in promoting a safe and inclusive work environment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with product management and sales to align engineering initiatives with business growth objectives.
  • Facilitate effective communication between engineering, operations, safety, quality, and supply chain teams.
  • Strategic Planning & Reporting
  • Present project updates, technical findings, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Contribute to long-term planning and innovation roadmaps.
  • Analyze engineering performance metrics and implement improvements.

  Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field);
  • 15+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing complex engineering projects and budgets.
  • Established commitment to a strong safety culture.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and plant operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and engineering software.

  Preferred Skills:

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management training.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and data analytics tools.
