      Position Overview:

      Sutter Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Government Affairs & State Health Policy In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Sutter’s state policy agenda, conducting extensive research, and analyzing data to inform policy decisions. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government officials, advocacy groups, and industry experts, to advocate for and promote our policy initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in policy analysis, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the political landscape.

      Job Description:

      This role requires the candidate to be local to the Sacramento area. Candidate will attend various meetings, etc. on site. Candidate has the option to work from home when not on site for meetings, etc.

      EDUCATION:
      Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

      Bachelor's: Government Relations, Public Policy, Public Relations, or related field


      TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

      12 years recent relevant experience.



      SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

      Established understanding of public insurance programs and healthcare administration.

      Advanced knowledge of strategy development and execution.

      Advanced understanding of local, state, and federal government policy issues and the healthcare environment.

      Verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

      Make presentations to persuade others to accept a specific opinion or action, or to provide information and instruction.

      Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with audiences across all areas and levels within Sutter Health as well as external organizations.

      Negotiate or exchange ideas, information, and opinions with others to formulate policies and programs and/or to arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions.

      Set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.

      The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
