      What is the opportunity?

      The Finance Director (Expenses) will:

      • Provide proactive advice, insights, analysis and reporting to Executive & Senior Management on Expenses, FTE and Sales, to improve financial performance and the quality of business decisions, with a focus on efficiency, productivity, and impact to profitability.

      • Support the achievement of strategic objectives by providing financial guidance on strategic initiatives, Project Approval Requests and expense efficiency programs.

      • Responsible for expense allocations, ensuring reasonableness of allocated expenses, and the annual cost study process.

      • Lead core finance activities including Month End Close, Management Reporting, Planning and Forecasting.

      • Drive change and improvement associated with the Finance and Actuarial Transformation and adoption of IFRS17 accounting standard.

      • Team delegation, oversight and ongoing talent management.

      What will you do?

      • Key finance advisor to business partners across all products and mandates as relates to expenses.

      • Assess and advise on financial impact of initiatives and strategies often under tight timelines, including via identification of risks, agility, resolution of ambiguity, and development of mitigation strategies.

      • Accountable for the annual expense budgeting and costing study exercises.

      • Monthly / quarterly reporting and analysis.

      • Measure and report on key performance indicators with a view of trends, risks and opportunities.

      • Support Enterprise related expense initiatives.

      • Educates and collaborates with key Insurance Business leaders to identify cost drivers and allocate their costs accurately across activities and products.

      • As a member of the Insurance Finance team provide dedicated support to the multi-functional Insurance Transformation within Finance.

      • Supports the introduction of new tools and processes to enhance the sharing of financial analysis to both finance and business partners.

      • Implementation of stringent EUDA, SOX, security and other model framework controls.

      • Support regulatory reporting requirements.

      What do you need to succeed?

      Must-have

      • Business Advisory experience with the proven ability to communicate complex concepts concisely to technical and non-technical audiences, in written and verbal forms.

      • 5+ years of experience related to expenses, financial analysis, planning /forecasting, business case analysis with a solid understanding of P&L impacts.

      • Knowledge of IFRS 17 and insurance products and processes

      • CPA, MBA or other commensurate experience.

      • Proven people management skills

      Nice-to-have

      • Demonstrated leadership in driving and implementing transformational change.

      • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills.
