- 12+ years of related experience in Finance with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or CFA preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead creatively and innovatively, applying strategic thinking to solve complex challenges
- Highly detail oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills - fluency in leading, performing and developing rigorous financial, statistical, and broad data-driven quantitative analysis and models
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels
- Proven success in managing and leading teams through change and growth.

- Familiarity with ERP and corporate financial planning tools (Oracle, Hyperion, Crystal Ball)

- Ability to synthesize details into a corporate-level strategic viewpoint

- Work with business partners to understand trends and drivers, creating transparency into financial results and telling compelling stories that enable business decisions
- Partner with Financial Planning & Administrative Support, Data & Analytics and BI teams to design and improve finance reporting tools and solutions
- Drive financial discipline by designing, implementing and leading planning and forecasting cycles that drive alignment between investment dollars and the company’s strategic objectives
- Partner with functional leaders, process owners and Technology to validate business cases by preparing financial analysis to aid in demonstrating and explaining costs, benefits/business outcomes, and return on investment (ROI) for strategic projects using a variety of reporting and presentation formats
- Develop and execute on FP&A's operational excellence and long-term strategy, anticipating business growth and complexity
- Bring strong leadership skills with demonstrated success in mentoring, developing and growing teams
- Partner with executive leadership to improve business performance by providing insightful reporting and analysis, identifying key issues, and driving accountability
Reporting to the VP of Financial Operations, the Director Financial Planning & Analytics (FP&A) will play a leadership role in the business planning, operational finance, and business analytics functions across the Enterprise. This high-impact role will collaborate closely with the Director of Financial Planning & Administrative Support, Data & Analytics, Business Intelligence (BI) teams and Enterprise leadership to deliver analytical insights and financial models to support strategic business decisions and optimize operations. This role will manage and develop a diverse group of finance professionals while providing a strong leadership presence across Finance and the Enterprise. The Director of FP&A brings strong quantitative skills, strategic thinking, sound business judgment, and a successful track record of leadership success. The Director will be skilled at communicating a compelling and inspirational vision of the future of FP&A, inspiring and motivating team members and employees and sharing the vision consistently and clearly to stakeholders.
This is a hybrid position which requires this leader to live within driving distance to our Oakland, CA office.

Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
