Job Description

- Build engagement strategies for alumni, students, and donors through outreach, communications, and programming, in an effort to strengthen connections with Georgetown and positively affect fundraising goals for GUMC
- Manage and implement signature events and innovative programming in support of engagement and fundraising goals, like Medical Reunion Weekend and the 4th Year Class Giving campaign for the School of Medicine (SOM)
- Manage key volunteer groups including School of Medicine class ambassadors, the Medical and Dental Alumni Boards, and the Medical Student Alumni Ambassadors (MSAA)
- Establish annual goals and manage reporting on engagement and fundraising for applicable GUMC units and programs
- Work closely with Annual Giving colleagues to ensure streamlined and effective communication with direct response fundraising efforts
- Partner with GUMC frontline fundraisers on engagement strategies that support donor pipeline growth
- Work closely with Alumni Relations and Advancement colleagues to ensure GUMC engagement programs are coordinated and aligned with broader engagement and fundraising goals, and ensure GUMC programs and constituents are well represented in Advancement events and communications
- Engage GUMC departments, faculty, staff, and alumni in support of established fundraising and engagement goals.
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 to 7 years of professional experience in constituent engagement, peer-to-peer fundraising, volunteer management, and marketing/communications or commensurate skills and experience
- First-hand experience engaging constituents through strategic programming, marketing, and communications
- A proven ability to think strategically and develop strategic plans
- Professional and collegial demeanor and ability to exercise diplomacy
- Ability to lead by example and through instruction
- Experience working with donors and/or volunteer leaders
- A track record of high achievement and meeting or exceeding goals
- Ability to think creatively and innovatively
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Experience and comfort working with complex metrics and analysis
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft applications - particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail

Job Overview
The Director for GUMC Constituent Engagement is responsible for the overall strategy, management, implementation, and evaluation of Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) constituent engagement, with a primary focus on the School of Medicine (SOM) alumni and student communities.

Work Interactions
The Director for GUMC Constituent Engagement reports to the Assistant Vice President of Annual Giving and manages at least one full-time staff person, an annual plan, and budgets for Medical Reunion and engagement activities. Additionally, they build and maintain collegial and effective working relationships with appropriate GUMC leadership and development colleagues, vendors, volunteers, and a broad range of other university departments.
