      Job Overview:

      Director, Franchise Services drives increased enterprise value by leading the Franchise Services function responsible for stewarding the portfolio of franchised cafés, franchise administration, franchise M&A activity, new café administration (café numbers, site approvals, doc request), and franchise financial management. This role requires extensive cross-functional team leadership as well as expert administration of deal points for transactions and lifecycle management and works closely with Development, Legal, Contract Administration, and Franchise Owners to support strategic decision-making.

      Duties & Responsibilities:

      • Develop tools and systems to support Franchise Development, including developing CRM and acting as CRM Administrator

      • Consolidate deal points and create document requests for Area Development Agreements (ADAs), and coordinate with Franchise and Development teams and ensure alignment with approved terms

      • Monitor Area Development Agreement (ADA) Compliance, track Franchise commitment compliance and prepare ADA milestone letters

      • Lead Franchise Agreement (FA) Renewal Process, communicate with franchisees regarding intent to renew, collection and reporting of renewal fees

      • Manage Franchise Administration process for Café Closure Requests, including data collection from owners, tracking and internal communication of close dates

      • Lead Agenda development for Franchise Development Council Monthly meeting (including ADAs, Closures, etc.)

      • Influence and assist Contract Administration team in preparation of annual FDD

      • Serve as key Franchise Team liaison for Franchise Owners, Franchise CFOs and Internal Teams

      • Establish systems, vendors and guidelines for new franchisee applications and due diligence. Lead New Franchise Qualification, including initiation of NDA, disclosure if needed, collection of due diligence, vetting of financials, preparation for Franchise Development Council review

      • Manage Franchise Fee collection, period close fee reconciliation and reporting

      • Administer Annual Franchise financials submission process

      • Coordinate review and approval of debt facility increase requests

      • Support unique invoice situations such as incremental dough distribution and no bake delivery agreements

      • Administer Development Incentive Programs, including payment approvals, communication with Franchisees and alignment with accounting

      • Support Franchise Café Development process, including attendance at Development Committee Meeting (DCM), ensure Meeting Notes and Site Acceptance Letters include conditions identified at DCM, assign and communicate Franchise Café Numbers, prepare Site Acceptance Letters (SAL), track SALs against ADAs

      • Assist Franchise Operations Team with Onboarding of new franchise groups

      • Oversee Remodel Certification Communications

      • Participate in development of Franchise Communications and vehicles/website

      Qualifications (Education & Experience):

      • Able to drive results with limited supervision

      • Ability to develop tactical plans independently

      • Minimum 10 years of experience with a Franchisor and high level of franchise business acumen

      • Minimum of 5 years in Franchising / Development Organization

      • CRM experience (Salesforce preferred)

      • Survey development and deployment experience

      • Experience with planning franchise events, tools, communications

      • Familiarity with FDDs

      • Excellent Communication and Project Management skills

      • Advanced skills in PPT, Microsoft Excel & Word including pivot tables and mail merges

      • Strong critical thinking skills with a methodological approach to problem solving

      • Ability to identify patterns and trends from past experiences that relate to a current situation and to use that knowledge to come up with creative solutions and new ideas

      • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

      • Self-motivated with ability to prioritize multiple activities simultaneously

      • Able to adapt to changing priorities and business needs

      Working Conditions:

      Travel – Single and multi-day travel as determined by Leadership.
