- The Director, Genesis Corporate Strategy is responsible for leading Genesis corporate planning and strategic efforts. This includes working closely with PLM, Sales, Marketing, Aftersales, Customer Experience, and Product Planning to ensure the strategy is implemented. This position also supports Genesis executive leadership by leading broad strategic initiatives related to Genesis. This role leads four critical workstream or Product & Mid-Term Planning, Governance, EV Strategy, and Budget/Business Operations.
- Align with Genesis executive leadership on strategic initiatives across the entire division.
- Work with Sales, Marketing, A/S and CX to develop/implement/sustain vehicle launch strategies.
- Key Genesis liaison to Corporate Planning and Product Line Management.
- Work with Genesis team in Korea to ensure good communication and collaboration on key initiatives.
- Market Research: Work closely with Research to develop consumer research initiatives that support launch strategy development and overall GMA objectives.
- Ensure key insights are utilized in developing launch/lifecycle strategies.
- Coordinate the development of division Mid-Term Plan with Product Planning & Pricing.
- Work with Planning team for Mid-Term Production (Factory) allocation strategy by model.
- Coordinate the development of EV strategy & EV relevant business, and new technology business (Mobility, In Car Payment, etc).
- Approve and deploy Governance materials and executive presentations with cross-functional teams.
- Guarantee all key strategies are updated and shared with Genesis executives in a timely manner.
- Function as GMA’s go-to resource on strategic issues.
- Support all strategy/planning in Genesis such as dealer development strategy and brand positioning.
- Oversee development of GMA scorecard that includes key metrics related to sales, customer service, image, etc.
- Responsible for Governance process and ensuring all content shared is accurate and relative for monthly meetings.
- Safeguard business health metrics are monitors and provide effective solutions to potential concerns.
- Lead information consolidation and sharing of PM2 status and tracking towards objectives.
- Support GMA executives by leading projects related to overall strategic efforts to establish and advance the Genesis brand.
- Lead annual budget creation and review for GMA.
- Enforce polices and standardization of processes to facilitate business operations and financial planning transparency and efficiency.
- Authorization of purchasing/accounting documents associated with department.
- Operating budget performance and management.
- Develop, mentor, and conduct personnel evaluations.
- Execution of programs & initiatives to further GMA’s corporate goals.
- Management and protection of all GMA assets.
- At least fifteen years automotive experience, ideally in Product Planning, Marketing, Market Research, or Corporate Strategy.
- Expert understanding of the automotive industry, particularly luxury brands.
- Eight years of supervisory experience is required.
- Superb communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Strong organizational and team leadership skills.
- Effective communication and presentation.
- Extremely strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Possess skillset to motivate and drive results in scenarios with inter-departmental coordination.
- Ability to analyze, organize, and present data effectively to executive management and HMC.
- A passion for products and following / understanding competitor strategies.
