      Director – Global Real Estate & Workplace Strategy

      The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
      The Director, Global Real Estate and Workplace Strategy is primarily responsible for managing the global real estate team and the workplace strategy team with the Enterprise Workplace Strategy organization. This responsibility includes real estate activities related to 3M’s owned and leased manufacturing, distribution and office facilities and workplace strategy activities related to definition of the enterprise-wide workplace design strategy, definition and implementation of the global integrated technology / advanced conferencing strategy and development and ownership of the global office standard. This person will have supervisory responsibility for the real estate team and the workplace strategy manager and team.

      As the Global Workplace Strategy Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you and your team will make an impact by:

      • Managing acquisition and disposition of all types of real estate globally
      • Managing lease renewals and terminations, lease management and lease payment administration
      • Leading extensive interaction with global real estate firms
      • Providing support and counsel with respect to real estate sites as required by other organizations and leading extensive cross-functional interactions with other groups including finance, legal, EHS and businesses
      • Defining enterprise-wide workplace design strategy including integrated technology strategy (AV)
      • Developing and owning the 3M global office standard and selecting and managing workplace tools to support planning and strategy development
      • Leading enterprise-wide EWS change management process implementation & change adoption for office workplace changes
      • Benchmarking internal & external expertise, processes and strategies and choosing and leading work outside firms to influence and support own workplace strategy

      Your Skills and Expertise

      To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree or higher, (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
      • Ten (10) years of experience in corporate real estate activities in a private, public, government or military environment.
      • Prior development and implementation of workplace strategy experience
      • Prior experience managing a team and working cross-functionally

      Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

      • Prior experience in corporate international and industrial real estate activities
      • Master’s degree in relevant studies from an accredited institution
      • Extensive interaction with global colleagues, international experience is a plus
      • Exceptional project management skills
      • Strong communications skills and strongly action-oriented
      • Flexibility to work after standard business hours and to travel as needed (domestic and international travel)

      Work location:

      Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

      The expected compensation range for this position is $251,462 - $307,343, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
