      POSITION SUMMARY

      The Director for GME Assessment and Evaluation is responsible for developing and overseeing data driven measures to assess and evaluate all aspects of the graduate medical education (GME) medical education curriculum and outcomes.


      The successful candidate will report to the VP of Academic Affairs, Chief Operations Officer for Education and Associate Designated Institutional Official (VPAA/COO/ADIO) and will work closely with program coordinators, as well as with other members of the faculty and administration to ensure that assessment and evaluation measures of the graduate medical education program are consistently applied and are tightly linked to accreditation standards and best practices.


      REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

      This position reports to the VP of Academic Affairs, Chief Operations Officer for Education and Associate Designated Institutional Official (VPAA/COO/ADIO). The GME Evaluation & Outcomes Specialist reports to this position.


      ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

      While living and demonstrating our Core Values, the Director for GME Assessment and Evaluation will:

      • Provide leadership on the collection, analysis, and reporting of data to support a continuous quality improvement process for the medical education curriculum and its associated components.
      • Responsible for creating, maintaining and tracking pace card/balanced scorecard metrics for GME staff, residents, and fellows, with the help of respective coordinators.
      • Perform assessment mapping across the curriculum to ensure that program goals and objectives are adequately assessed and evaluated.
      • Design and develop a system for program evaluation that will support continuous curriculum improvement, and support faculty in the development of new student assessment strategies.
      • Provide leadership in the collection, analysis, and reporting of data to support a continuous quality improvement process for the medical education curriculum and its associated components.
      • Monitor curricular endpoint competencies, learning objectives, teaching modalities, and their integration with assessment modalities for all curricular units.
      • Develop and implement data driven measures to evaluate additional program components including the Area of Concentration program.
      • Develop regular data reports on important curricular outcome measures for various internal constituents.
      • Analyze and communicate (orally and through written reports) assessment and related data to appropriate internal and external constituents.
      • Consults with faculty and staff in the development of rubrics, observation protocols, and other assessment tools.
      • Collaborate with Program Directors and faculty to assess learning outcomes, analyze data, and report results.
      • Guide the development of assessment strategies and program evaluation for curricular elements and core competencies.
      • Support development of surveys, focus groups, questionnaires, and other curricular and program evaluation tools.
      • Facilitate changes in the curriculum to improve medical evaluation based on outcomes data.
      • Maintain a comprehensive system of assessment data management and reporting through the curricular management system and other database tools.
      • Provide direct supervision to My Evaluations Specialist.
      • Conduct ongoing performance evaluations on direct report which includes, but is not limited to, annual evaluations, performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions inclusive of EOS tools.

      Requirements

      REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

      • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred
      • A minimum of 6-8 years of experience using learning management software within the healthcare education sector
      • Candidates who are already skilled in the use of the MyEvaluations application will be strongly considered
      • A high degree of proficiency with the Microsoft Office 2007 suite of applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Gmail
      • Demonstrated proficiency with general computer hardware, software and data networking concepts
      • Meet The Wright Center for Community Health and its affiliated Enterprise entities’ EOS People Analyzer Tool
      • Must be a skilled communicator comfortable dealing with diverse individuals in unique and often novel situations, with a strong focus on value to the organization
      • Must have a proven ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with management and peers on issues, risks, opportunities, and general progress towards business goals with a focus on collaboration across different functional units and organizations
      • Ability to use appropriate skills in the areas of: project coordination, multi-tasking, prioritization of demands, group discussion, training, facilitation, decision-making, communication, and time management. Ability to execute with efficiency and quality
      • Disciplined self-starter who is also a positive, team-oriented individual with the ability and desire to learn and keep pace with the issues impacting medical education learning management applications
      • Demonstrated professionalism, both in appearance and conduct. Conscientious with issues related to security and privacy
      • Demonstrated experience in consulting and/or training and development; system implementation, and requirements gathering is beneficial
      • Successful candidates must have demonstrated technical aptitude and the ability to learn new technologies quickly in a real-world context
      • This position requires the ability to explain technology to diverse customers and ensure they are able to use applications and functionality effectively to accomplish their work
      • This position requires enthusiasm and energy; willingness to learn and adapt quickly
