      DHL Express Canada is looking for a Director – HR Business Partners to work out of our National Office in Brampton, Ontario for our Canadian team. This role will act as the primary leader for all HR Business Partners in Canada, supporting HR in the field in order to achieve company objectives and ensure industry best practices and adherence to current legislation.
      How will you contribute to the success of DHL?
      As a member of the National HR leadership team, you will be a business leader supporting national strategy and people impact to effectively lead the HR function in the country and be an effective business partner/influencer by:
      • Lead a team of HR Business Partners who support local areas and departments across the country while providing coaching and contributing to their skill development
      • Build strong, positive relationships at all levels of the organization to support area/national Business needs, HR Strategies deployment and act as a change agent to support critical business initiatives and support leaders in all elements of effective change management
      • Provide guidance and consulting on HR matters while drawing on specialists or team members as needed
      • Lead & deliver key HR activities though the HRBPs and/or centers of expertise and provide HR service portfolio to defined organizational requirements and priorities
      • Partner with senior HR managers to address cross functional gaps, processes, improvements and any initiatives required to support the business objectives and needs
      • Advocate and drive critical HR communication across the country pertaining to all HR programs and initiatives
      • Act as a national point of contact for Union representatives regarding issues related to the collective bargaining agreement and the labour/management relationship & strategy for the country
      • Lead investigations and fact findings on employee and labour relations issues within the country i.e., harassment, and disciplinary issues etc.
      • Partner with our HR Center of Excellence and the business to proactively respond to issues including grievances, disability management, training, compensation, development, and employee relations
      • Conduct training for HRBPs, employees and managers as required i.e., labour relations, attendance management, anti-harassment, and discrimination
      • Support with overall HR process improvement to better suit the needs of the organization
      • Develop and implement HR policies that comply with statutory regulation, evolving legislation and are consistent with internal and external best practices
      • Contribute to Area and National projects and influence HR strategies, policies, and procedures while monitoring deployment of the HR plans and achievement of sub-functional goals to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness
      • Perform other duties as assigned

      Do you have what it takes?
      • Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, or any other related discipline. CHRA (a must)
      • Minimum five (5) year experience as an HR generalist with direct labor relations experience in an unionized environment (a must)
      • Strong functional HR expertise in the following areas: organizational design, performance management, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, coaching and development, employee relations and conflict resolution
      • Demonstrated ability to lead the development and implementation of people solutions to address business opportunities – strong business acumen and commercial awareness
      • Demonstrated experience coaching business leaders and facilitating organizational change
      • Ability to handle multiple assignments, prioritize activities in a fast-paced organization work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines
      • Proven team player
      • Proven ability to make tough decisions when required
      • Strong knowledge of applicable employment legislation in a federally regulated industry
      • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
      • HRIS and data analytics experience is an asset
      • Available to travel within the region/country as well as ability to work outside regular business hours as required
