- Responsible for providing extraordinary Customer Service to the Southwest Airlines Leadership Team & Employees by establishing and directing programs and procedures for HR functions including, but not limited to, the following: Absence Management, Compliance, Drug and Alcohol Regulatory Requirements and policy Administration, and Pre Employment screening and other new hire administration. Also, responsible for helping to develop, lead, and implement creative people initiatives and programs. In addition to advising Leaders and Employees in human resources policy and program matters, and key to helping create and promote a culture that seeks diversity, practices inclusivity, and strives to create a strong sense of belonging for everyone.
- Responsible for supporting the Employee Experience through the services provided, and to continue to monitor for best practices in the administration of these services.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work at a Company facility at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

- Guide and lead team members using SWA talent management practices to coach, develop, and engage employees
- Adhere to Company values and competencies to foster a culture of inclusion, recognition, and support of a safe work environment
- Invest in leadership and self-growth through participating in continuous learning and development
- Act as a Consultant to the Department's Sr. Leadership Team by analyzing People issues such as Program use, and recommending solutions in partnerships with People Department Centers of Excellence
- Oversee and manage the People Operations team; plan, organize, and manage all day-to-day activities of the department.
- Collaborate with Leaders across the organization to develop and model inclusive leadership best practices
- Coach and counsel Leaders on managing employee performance, team effectiveness, and best practices
- Manage annual re-evaluation of programs for cost effectiveness, utilization rates, and awareness.
- Develop, maintain, and implement human resources standard operating procedures, including compliance filings, staff records, reports, and local, state, and federal regulations
- Establish and maintain department records and reports; recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
- Collaborate with the People Department Leadership Team to develop an integrated short-term and long-term HR vision and strategy that aligns with overall business priorities and goals
- Contribute to the business strategy by helping business functional areas to identify, prioritize, and build Employee centered capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes in alignment with business goals
- Create business cases and develop communication for Stakeholders and Leaders
- Function as a strategic Business Advisor to the Executive/Senior Management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer and personal services including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer Satisfaction
- Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organization's strategic plan
- Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Skilled at managing vendor and regulatory relationships
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
- Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among unrelated events)
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)
- Advanced level Business Acumen in functional area
- Seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- People Leadership and Development
- Leading Human Resource Functions
- N/A
- Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

Competitive market salary from $183,950 to $204,400* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
