      A role on the Enterprise Insights team means you will be a champion of insights about our current and future guests, inspiring the organization to act in their best interest. Under your leadership, your team will help partners build consumer-centric marketing and communications strategies, develop impactful creative and activations, and monitor brand risk and reputation.

      As a Director, Insights - Marketing and Brand you will report to the VP, Enterprise Insights and have responsibility for brand, marketing, and reputation insights. You will collaborate with your team to proactively identify business, marketing, and communications opportunities.

      You will:

      Collaborate with partners to ensure business problems are well articulated and will guide your team as they build hypothesis-driven frameworks, scope, and execute consumer research; ensuring the best method is employed given business need and constraints (e.g., budget, time, trade-offs).

      • Ensure data and information is translated into insights in a manner that informs business choices and outcomes.

      • Guide and develop future Insights leaders, those on your team and across the Enterprise Insights team.

      • Actively contribute to the Enterprise Insights leadership team, making meaningful contributions to team culture and development.

      • Bring innovative thinking to your team’s work, ensuring they employ contemporary methods, harness the expertise of external partners, and experiment to enhance understanding.

      About you:

      • Have a four-year degree and 10+ years marketing research, integrated marketing communications, or brand research experience in any of the following industries: consumer research, advertising, media, consumer packaged goods, or retail.

      • Can partner at all levels and across functions.

      • Ability to effectively develop, manage, and inspire team members.

      • Comfortable working with a range of data sources and insights methods.

      • Translates research and data into clear narratives; making recommendations based on a solid understanding of partners needs and business context.

      • Credible functional leader whose perspective is respected and whose perspective is sought out.

      • Ability to investigate, strategize, and solve problems while working with ambiguity.

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience advocating for consumer/guests’ perspectives.

      This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
