      Purpose of Job:

      The Director, Interstate Owned Territory (IOT) Operations, is responsible for overseeing multiple Regional Market Managers (RMM) who manage Market General Managers (MGM) within a warehouse distributorship network. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and optimizing distribution and sales strategies to enhance operational efficiency and drive performance across multiple locations. The Director will play a key role in aligning regional efforts with corporate objectives, ensuring seamless logistics, and fostering a high-performance culture. This position requires 50%+ travel to various regional locations.

      Job Components:

      • Leadership & Management: Provide strategic direction and oversight to Regional Market Managers, ensuring effective leadership cascades down to Market General Managers and their respective teams. Oversee performance management processes to ensure accountability and continuous improvement at all levels.

      • Direct accountability for the Profit & Loss (P&L) performance of specified assigned regions.

      • Strategy Development: Design and execute distribution and sales strategies that align with corporate goals, improve efficiency, and enhance market share.

      • Operational Performance: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operations, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.

      • Identify variances to the fiscal year financial plan and address with Regional Market Managers (direct reports).

      • Process Optimization: Implement best practices in warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain management to improve workflow, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

      • Investigate specific accounts with unacceptable decline to identify the cause, and work with RMM to develop a plan to address issues.

      • Sales Growth: Collaborate with sales teams to develop strategies that enhance revenue and customer acquisition, ensuring strong market presence.

      • Has an in-depth understanding of competitive products and services within the regional marketplace.

      • Budget & Financial Management: Oversee regional budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource allocation that maximizes profitability.

      • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all locations adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and industry compliance standards.

      • Talent Development: Mentor and develop high-potential employees within the operations structure, driving engagement and retention.

      • Identify and develop the strengths and weaknesses of direct reports. Leverage individual strengths for the betterment of the region.

      • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Finance, HR, and Marketing, to ensure smooth operational execution and alignment with corporate strategy.

      • Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to the Vice President of Operations (VP, IOT) and executive leadership.

      • Communicate enterprise initiatives, Interstate Owned Territory (IOT) goals, and regional objectives to RMMs to ensure clarity and alignment.

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (MBA preferred).

      • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse distribution, logistics, or sales operations.

      • Proven experience in multi-location operational management, overseeing regional teams.

      • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

      • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

      • Ability to manage change, drive process improvements, and implement strategic initiatives.

      • Proficiency in ERP, WMS, and other operational management tools.

      • Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L responsibilities.

      Scope Data:

      • Manage a team of direct reports.

      • Oversee multiple regions of operations.

      • Accountability for P&L for specified regions.

      • Contacts are internal (Operation Directors, Market General Managers, Accounting Consulting Evaluations Services (ACES), National Accounts (NAC), Home Office (HO) Staff) and external (Customers).

      • This position operates with a high degree of relational interaction with minimal supervision.

      • Must build and maintain relationships across the Enterprise associated with source data of all types.

      Work Environment:

      • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods of time.

      • Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.

      • Regular physical activity includes manual handling, verbal communication, and auditory tasks.

      • Specific vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

      • Travel 50%+ of the time.

      • Required to be on-site at the Dallas, TX home office 4 days per week when not traveling.
