Assists in setting the technology strategy, project roadmap, and budget, and responsible for subsequent outcomes.
Oversees relationship management between corporate business functional teams, clinical teams and IT; understanding corporate and clinical strategies and how IT can enable successful outcomes.
Develops the strategy and prioritization of enhancement requests for clinical system platforms
Manages the execution of IT project portfolio within Clinical IT, assuring project success and within budget.
Prepares and presents reports to leadership and staff.
Aligns IT direction with the clinical and corporate team's short and long-term business goals and objectives.
Identifies the impact of the organization's vision and strategic direction on technology and establishes IT priorities accordingly.
Analyzes long-term impact of new or anticipated strategies and decisions.
Diagnoses and resolves ambiguous problems.
Leads process and service improvement programs.
Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
Reports directly to Vice President, Technology
Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or Business with an emphasis in Computer Science.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience, possessing expert knowledge, skills and abilities required to resolve the most/highly complex IT issues.
Minimum 5 years leadership experience in an IT environment with strong team building skills.
Ability to integrate deep subject matter expertise with industry experience, knowledge of professional standards, relevant related disciplines and business goals and strategy
Able to direct and control the activities of the function area.
Previous experience working with other senior managers with establishing strategic plans and objectives.
Able to make final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures objectives are achieved.
Able to participate in corporate development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
Demonstrated ability of working on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth knowledge of the company.
Past interaction with executives and/or major customers involving negotiation or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
Past experience of having overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending, and implementing change.
Experienced in coaching and mentoring both team members and business partners.
Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.

Job Description Summary
The Director, IT and Clinical Applications is committed to tactical and strategic initiatives in which Information Systems will play a pivotal role both in providing systems support and in being an integral part of future services offered to Shirley Ryan Abilitylab patients and clients.
Under general supervision, the Director, IT Clinical Applications provides leadership to the Cerner Applications team. Identifies, evaluates and resolves business issues using technology solutions for clinical and business functions such as Registration, Radiology, Revenue Cycle, Clinical Workflows, etc. Helps to create and subsequently manage the technology budget for Cerner clinical system programs. Possesses extensive technical breadth and program leadership skills to be able to assist in solutioning and implementing multiple modules, functionality, reporting and bolt on applications.
