- Drive results by leading HMNA (Hyundai Motors North America) to become a technology efficient company, reduce its technical debt and enable business units across HMNA to achieve their vision. Create and manage IT strategy, mid to long range plans and lead operational excellence for business innovation. Align and partner with the Hyundai Motor Company’s (HQ) Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) division and Hyundai AutoEver. Play a strategic role in executing IT governance as Regional HQ IT/Digital.
- Create strategic business planning & governance to align with HQ direction.
- Annual IT planning with RHQ subsidiaries (Canada, Mexico, Alabama plant, HMA in USA).
- Mid-term and Long-term IT planning of RHQ.
- Provide strategic leadership for planning and tracking all IT/Digital projects, schedules, establishing milestones and assigning RHQ management direction, identifying dependencies, executing, evaluating annual project reporting.
- Direct and plan implementation of customer centric features and services that enhance the internal (employees) and external (dealers + customers) technology experience.
- Elevate technology partnership, accountability, and budget management with Hyundai AutoEver America.
- Partner with AutoEver to elevate the business and technology architecture practice and a plan to reduce technical debt.
- Lead and monitor IT governance.
- Accountable for HMA/GMA project planning and delivery in partnership with Hyundai AutoEver.
- Support and facilitate major global IT projects for HMNA and its subsidiaries.
- Improve current IT structure align with RHQ strategy. (Area: Infrastructure, Middleware, Application, 3rd party solutions, Vendor Management, etc.).
- Liaises with internal stakeholders – subsidiary IT counterparts – to ensure clear and consistent communication about IT decisions that impact the broader organization.
- Proactively monitor and present emerging new technologies, platforms, and partnerships.
- Deliver new valuable content for business and end-user experience (New processes based upon new tech, best practices, IT trend, Case study for proof of concept)
- Learn new technology focus on new business trend (Mobility, Electrification, Connectivity, Autonomous) and create strategic direction from IT perspective.
- Lead IT Steering Committee meetings and financial planning and budgeting process for HMA and GMA. Align other HMNA entities with this process.
- Lead budget planning for the division.
- Create and propose IT strategies to HMNA CEO & President and Executive Committee.
- Instruct, influence, and authorize IT strategies and direction to HMNA’s subsidiaries.
- IT budget owner for HMA/GMA and reviewer with other HMNA’s entities.
- Development and execution of the sub-division budget.
- Lead and Organize IT ideation, workshop, and IT Steering Committee (ITSC) for all HMNA subsidiaries.
- Management and development of staff.
- 15 or more years of experience in IT, Planning or strategy, data management, data analytics, operations and/or IT related experience.
- 5 or more years of experience as IT strategic planner preferred.
- At least 10 years of supervisory experience desired.
- Prior automotive industry experience strongly preferred.
- Prior experience leading digital transformation (local, regional, or global).
- Strong knowledge of technology trends. Deep expertise in automotive industry related technology and business processes.
- Understanding of web development, databases, management reporting and ERP tools in .Net, Oracle, Analytic tool, Marketing CRM, or customer facing system and SAP are desirable.
