Recommend and implement a comprehensive learning technology management strategy aligned with the goals and objectives of the Education division and in partnership with Product and IT teams.
Partner with the Learning Strategy and Design team to research and evaluate digital learning tools and technology used to author learning experiences such as CIDILabs, Peerceptiv, H5P, and Articulate to enhance the learning experience using principles of learning science and learning theory, improve operational efficiency, and lead the maintenance and development of existing digital learning tools and technologies.
Lead the research, proposal, implementation, and management of digital publishing and content management platforms required for bulk curriculum publishing and distribution.
Manage and mentor a team of learning technologists to use adult learning theory and learning science to design and develop features and functionalities necessary for a high-quality learning experience in our products in partnership with platform vendors, including publishing print versions of curricula.
Utilize data analytics to create reports on and monitor performance KPIs of implemented learning technologies and share with relevant leadership teams.
Partner with Learning Strategists to ensure consistency in learning experience and adherence to the Education division pedagogical philosophy across learning platforms, channels, and products.
Provide consultative guidance to senior leaders in the Education team and across the broader enterprise on new learning technology trends in learning sciences and updates on learning platforms.
Bachelor's degree required, master’s degree and/or professional certification in learning design and technology preferred.
Minimum 8-10 years of experience working on leading the selection, design, and implementation of learning technology management systems (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, edX etc.) and course production processes.
Demonstrated expertise in adult learning theory (Andragogy, Transformational Learning, Project-Based Learning, Experiential Learning), principles of learning experience design, and the ADDIE model.
Demonstrated fluency with design frameworks (Backwards Design, Universal Design for Learning, Blooms Taxonomy) and evaluation rubrics (Kirkpatrick Model, Quality Matters Rubrics, OLC Quality Scorecard).
Working knowledge of publishing platforms and content management systems.
Working knowledge of how LTIs and APIs can be used to enhance an LMS.
Demonstrated fluency using recognized e-learning technical standards, e.g., SCORM, Tin Can API/xAPI, IMS Common Cartridge.
Demonstrated fluency in Accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and use of Accessibility tools.
Strong working knowledge of front-end development types (HTML 5.0, JavaScript and CSS).
Strong familiarity with XML-based publishing platforms (HTML, XSLT, XML, PDF, JSON, etc.)
Strong working knowledge of responsive design standards and an ability to incorporate responsive principles in HTML and CSS code.
6 or more years of previous leadership experience, which can include direct supervision, coaching/mentoring, and project management experience.

Job Description Summary:
The Director, Learning Technology Strategy and Operations will be a key member of the Learning Innovation leadership team and is responsible for the technology that supports the development, production, publishing, and delivery of Education credentials and certificate products. This includes learning management systems (Benchprep, Canvas), applications (CIDI Labs, H5P, Peerceptive, and Zoom) and content management systems (RSuite). This role reviews all existing systems and processes, identifies gaps, and recommends solutions for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our technology and processes. The Director, Learning Technology Strategy and Operations is responsible for developing and leading a dedicated team of learning technologists to ensure that all Education products are published and delivered on time and at a high level of quality. This role also nurtures strong stakeholder relationships and collaborates with cross functional and cross-divisional teams, including Learning Strategy and Design, IT, Product, Learning Content, and Exam Development.
The position may be based in approved jurisdictions within the United States or United Kingdom and reports to the Senior Head, Learning Strategy and Design, Education Division. It is eligible for remote and hybrid work in approved US and UK jurisdictions.

CFA Institute salary ranges will vary by geographical location. This role is being posted nationally/internationally and does not have to be performed in New York City. In compliance with the New York City salary disclosure law, the anticipated base salary for this role in New York City will range between $145,300 and $242,100. Salaries are determined based on candidate relevant experience and skills, as well as internal equity.
