Overview
POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Director, Operations – Winston-Salem will oversee operations at our HIM Virginia facility, Warehouse operations at the HIM Winston Salem facility and lead key Operations initiatives impacting HIMVA and/or HIMWS. This role will be expected to develop short- and long-term plans for these areas as well as demonstrate leadership in developing staffing improvements and operational plans. This position will develop performance metrics (Safety, Quality, Service, Reliability, Agility and Cost) and ensure achievement of performance targets and continuous improvement. This position will interface with other departments to review processes, operations, and production quality and also to develop a culture and environment of collaboration and a positive, inclusive atmosphere. The Director will report to the VP, Manufacturing.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills:
• Organizational/Motivational leadership skills coupled with strong technical and analytical ability• Problem solving abilities for short and long term resolution• Strong manufacturing / operational skills with the ability to understand formulations/process/procedures• Ability to educate others in Manufacturing Operation methodologies• Strong customer service with result driven orientation with follow through on plans/programs• Ability to function as an effective team leader and/or member• Ability to adapt as the function and organization evolves/changes. Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate during continuous change• Sound judgment with effective technical/operational focus• Ability to plan organize and manage across multiple shifts and departments.• Result driven orientation including follow through on plans/programs
Experience:
• 10 years of relevant experience with manufacturing operations/management in the Dietary, Food, Nutritional or Pharmaceutical industries or operations management• 8 years of demonstrated managerial experience; supervising direct reports and/or directing workflow• Working knowledge of materials/process/equipment i.e., characterization/effect on manufacturing environment• Developing/writing/updating procedures• Establishing manufacturing systems and organizationsEducation:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations or equivalent field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced Engineering degree and/or MBA• Demonstrated previous establishment of manufacturing systems and organizations• Lean/Six Sigma enterprise experience/practical knowledge• Experience in Food/Dietary/Nutritional/Pharmaceutical kindred product industries with working knowledge of cGMP other regulatory environments
