General Summary
Leads technology enablement within all manufacturing operations while leading a manufacturing engineering team to drive standard operating procedures. Ensures manufacturing facilities are run with Optical Lab Management Software (LMS) systems while validating new product feasibility and manufacturability prior to product launch.

Pay Grade: Full Time and Onsite
Pay: $110,541.41 - $147,387.48 Salaried
Essential Functions
Maintains and is responsible for lab equipment functionality in operational optical labs within the US.
Drives execution of new technology and process installations to enable low-cost, high-quality manufacturing that delivers KPIs.
Develops and manages manufacturing engineering team capable of carrying out needed engineering initiatives and project management of engineering projects.
Supports and facilitates the equipment selection/bid process with technical specifications and requirements.
Drives process design and analysis to include equipment/facility needs, placement, appropriate workflows, and standard operating procedures.
Owns operational needs within the LMS and interface with Global Technology Services as needed.
Leads maintenance organization to leverage CMMS technology for strategic parts management to deliver equipment maintenance and reliability.
Supports economic evaluations and recommendations regarding capital expenditures to optimize efficiencies and costs.
Interfaces with Merchandising & Product on new products to determine feasibility and manufacturability.
Leads staff and provides technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management.
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Technology, or related field, Masters preferred or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 additional years of experience related to functional area
Minimum of 6 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of direct reports
Global mindset and cultural sensitivity
Experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment across multiple disciplines including process or controls engineering, maintenance, capital project management and manufacturing operations leadership
Knowledge of direct purchasing, MRO inventory management, cost accounting and operations annual financial planning required
Exceptional problem-solving abilities to drive root cause solutions that deliver with financial acumen
Experience interfacing with multiple ERP/CMMS or other technology platforms required
Experience in Lean Manufacturing environments across multiple facilities required
Can manage complex projects where independent action, high degree of initiative and coordination across departments are required
Strong analytical, strategic, and decision quality skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Current understanding of automated systems, data, and technology
Experience working with external customers or industry partners in constructive and collaborative relationships to accomplish objectives
Experience in implementing significant process and system changes
Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to manage teams
Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties
Working Conditions
The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust etc.
