      Job Description

      Join Takeda as a Director, Market Access and Channel Strategy out of our Cambridge, MA Office. Where you will develop and oversee sustainable market access and channel strategies that will ensure assigned Gastroenterology (GI) BU’s products in Inflammatory Bowel Disease achieve the most optimal access positions for patients. You will lead the IRA drug price “negotiation” program (DPNP) strategy, negotiation, and effectuation planning for IPAY 2028 and beyond for relevant products.

      You will also be responsible for value story development, payer/PBM contracting strategy, pricing, specialty pharmacy and distribution plans, and payer / channel marketing resources for in-line and pipeline products.

      How you will contribute:

      • Develops and oversees sustainable market access and channel strategies that will ensure GI BU’s IBD products achieve the most optimal access positions for existing and future products.
      • Supports IRA drug price “negotiation” program (DPNP) preparedness for IPAY 2028 and beyond.
      • Ensures close collaboration with other Patient and Market Access colleagues along with Medical, HEOR, Marketing, Finance, Analytics and Sales colleagues to capture relevant payer insights, identify data gaps, develop compelling value propositions for field-based teams.
      • Understands reimbursement landscape and incorporates into market access & pricing strategy.
      • Collaborates with HEOR in the development of payer evidence needs and ensures it is integrated into the Medical/HEOR evidence plan.
      • Manage and execute payer and channel specific marketing plans to achieve patient and business objectives
      • Aligns organization on metrics to assess impact of key market access strategies and tactics.
      • Contributes to annual brand planning, forecasting and budgeting process to represent payer and channel customer segment and ensures brand plans incorporate the needs of patient, payer and healthcare provider.
      • Partners with New Product Planning and Business Development functions to inform market access inputs for early stage / targeted assets and lifecycle management strategies
      • Identifies, as appropriate, payer/ system specific opportunities for innovative arrangements based on brand strategies in collaboration with Strategic Partnerships
      • Oversees all payer and channel market research for relevant products

      Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in related field required; MBA, PharmD, or MS in health sciences related field highly preferred
      • 10+ years of experience in biopharma required
      • Experience in biopharma market access (across payer, PBM, IDN, GPO, Specialty Pharmacy highly preferred
      • Experience with biologics and specialty products preferred understanding of U.S. payer market dynamics and how managed care organizations make decisions across commercial and public channels
      • Experience working across Medical, Legal, Finance, Analytics, Public Affairs, etc.
      • Financial acumen including resource allocation, budget management and reporting, strategic sourcing, and P&L evaluation
      • Analytical capabilities to ensure robust inputs to decision-making
      • Travel ~10% (domestic)

      U.S. Base Salary Range:

      $174,500.00 - $274,230.00

      The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained , certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
