All students will receive a dynamic and unparalleled education that guarantees choices and opportunities today and in the future. To provide leadership in the coordination of advanced academic services including gifted and talented, and Pre-AP/AP (Advanced Placement). Qualifications: Education/Certification: Master’s degree from accredited university (required) Valid Texas Supervisor, Mid-Management or Standard Principal certificate preferred Gifted/Talented (GT) Certification (30 hour state requirement) required Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of and prior experience with effective advanced academics, college, career and military readiness (CCMR) programs and initiatives Ability to disaggregate and analyze data to improve outcomes, as well as lead the development of effective data dissemination tools and processes Ability to effectively implement policy and procedures Strong strategic planning, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills Experience: Minimum of five 5 years of successful advanced academics and/or CCMR experience with a diverse population of students (preferred) Significant leadership experience managing direct reports, as well as cross-functional teams and departments Familiarity with both advanced academics and CCMR strategies and programs, as well as other programs (e.g. SEL, AP/Dual Credit, Texas College Bridge) Major Responsibilities and Duties: Advanced Academics and CCMR Program ManagementEstablish vision, goals, and supporting strategies to prepare students in the district for post-secondary success, especially as it pertains to college admissions, college enrollment, scholarships/financial aid/college affordability, and career preparation. Oversee and support designated staff both within and across departments and teams to ensure district CCMR readiness and advanced academic goals are being met. Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, including district and campus leadership, community organizations, district departments, colleges and universities, scholarship providers, and other school districts to maximize CCMR and advanced academics student outcomes. Central coordination and management of external partnerships with Alief ISD (e.g., Texas College Bridge, CollegeSpring, etc.) Constantly use multiple sources of data to monitor progress of advanced academics and CCMR efforts and adjust efforts as needed. Identify and develop innovative and effective strategies to strengthen advanced academic pathways and CCMR levels across the district. Provide effective leadership in developing, implementing, and evaluating a district wide advanced academics program. Review, evaluate, recommend, and/or purchase materials and manages advanced academics budget. Provide program assistance to teachers and administrators. Consult with content coordinators in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum modifications in accordance with district and state standards. Develop and coordinate professional development. Review and update district advanced academic services handbook and forms as needed. Coordinate district wide competition for grades K-6. District Cross-Team/Departmental CollaborationCollaborate with other key district and campus-based staff (e.g., Director of Guidance and Counseling, Student Support Services, High School leadership teams, etc.) to develop and implement the three-year CCMR strategic plan. Provide clear messaging and coaching that supports effective implementation of advanced academics and CCMR strategies through professional development for staff. Partner with Alief ISD’s Family and Community Engagement office and related community partners to develop and execute a family engagement strategy directly tied to the broader advanced academics and CCMR strategic plan. Observe and provide consistent feedback regarding district-wide advanced academics and CCMR practices while supporting the respective team with implementation of consistent district-wide CCMR practices focused on improved postsecondary outcomes for students. Collaborate, provide feedback and share data with campus staff; provide recommendations to improve advanced academics CCMR identified strategies and priorities based on data. Maintain a positive and strong vision for improving advanced academics and CCMR throughout the district. Policy, Reports, and LawWork with the Deputy of Instruction, Chief of Schools, Chief of School Improvement and Accountability to develop and execute a three-year strategic plan around Advanced Academics and Collee, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) for Alief ISD. Develop and manage the overall strategy, goal setting, and execution of aligning current and newly proposed initiatives with larger district goals and initiatives. Lead the consistent communication of executive-level decisions and how they will influence the evolution of Advanced Academics and CCMR infrastructure of the district. Lead the program development and evaluation, internal and external partner management, community outreach and collaboration. Monitor and track required documentation and compliance with state guidelines. Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in curriculum and instruction area. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required. OtherMaintain confidentiality. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief. Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise, evaluate, and recommend the hiring and termination of support staff assigned. EvaluationPerformance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Professional Supervisor Personnel.
