      Job Purpose and Impact

      The Director of Aviation, will have direct operational responsibility for all aviation activities at the company both international and domestic, including oversight of the pilots, flight scheduling staff, maintenance staff and remotely operated systems staff. In this role, you will be responsible for all flight operations and provide overall guidance and aviation expertise to the team to ensure safe and efficient transportation solutions for passengers on the company aircraft fleet anywhere in the world, partner with key stakeholders to establish the department's budget and collaborate with other teams where appropriate. You will develop, implement and administer strategic operating policies, procedures and practices for all flight operations while monitoring industry trends and advancements to proactively adapt the aviation strategy.

      Key Accountabilities

      • Set and drive the corporate aircraft vision and strategy as well as short and long term goals to meet company objectives.
      • Handle all facets of the flight department including flight operations, aircraft maintenance, finances, fleet management, hiring and hangar administration.
      • Responsible for all aviation activities, both international and domestic, ensuring all aviation personnel comply with related aviation guidelines, global aviation authorities and international aviation rules of airspace, aircraft registration, safety, security and sustainability.
      • Partner collaboratively with executive team, senior management, company employees, board members and guests on flight needs.
      • Determine optimal lifespan to own an aircraft and actively participate in the negotiation of aircraft purchase and support equipment including, price, warranties and maintenance agreements.
      • Responsible for strategy, implementation and benefits realization of remotely operated and autonomous technology use within the company.
      • Oversee all supplemental aircraft needs partnering with the corporate security and environmental, health and safety teams and assume flight duty to fulfill flight hour and currency requirements or stand in pilot if needed.
      • Provide mid- to long-term (three or more years) strategic leadership, development and talent management for multiple teams of directors and managers. You will develop mid- to long-term plans to optimize the organization, function or subfunction and the talent required to execute strategies in job area. You will inspire others by articulating the positive impact the organization can make, while creating an environment in which people know where they stand, including when they are performing poorly.

      Qualifications

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in aviation/engineering/aeronautics/aerospace science or a related field or equivalent experience
      • Minimum 10 years of aviation management, minimum 7 years of supervisory experience
      • Prior leadership expereince in a multi-aircraft/multi-faceted flight department

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Master's degree or advanced academic degree
      • Minimum of 16 years of related work experience
      • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
      • Certified Aviation Manager Accreditation
      • International flight experience
