      The Benefits Director is responsible for implementation, communication, and administration of corporate benefit programs including, but not limited to medical, dental, life/disability, wellness, leave management, and other ancillary programs. The Director will work with the Vice President of Benefits to help drive efficiencies, identify cost savings opportunities, identify, and deploy Team Member experience enhancements, and help create programs to ensure a positive impact to the wellbeing of our employees. The Director will also be responsible for ensuring plan compliance with applicable governmental regulations.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Oversee and implement cost-effective benefit programs and strategies that align with business objectives, create plan efficiencies, and adequately address Team Member needs.
      • Oversee funding of employee and employer contributions, self-administered claims payments and fund reconciliation. Responsible for oversight of financial health of benefits and wellness programs.
      • Monitor ongoing and developing benefits legislation to ensure plan compliance with all laws and regulations where the company does business
      • Oversee vendor relationships for day to day operations and issue management. Implement processes to ensure vendor is held accountable for performance targets and address delivery issues.
      • Direct and support the administration of benefits programs and services. Communicate and make recommendations regarding benefits, claims, enrollment processes and procedures, etc.
      • Benefit Compliance – Oversee the compliance, reporting, and governance of health and welfare benefit plans in accordance with ERISA, DOL, and other agencies and in accordance with internal controls and audit requirements.
      • Partner with legal and consulting teams to ensure programs, policies, and procedures are compliant with regulatory requirements; assist in preparation of plan reports and filings as required.
      • Oversee leave management internal team and vendor relationships to ensure optimized administration and integration with corporate and property HR teams.

      QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

      • Knowledge of benefit program design including medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, STD and LTD
      • Working knowledge of laws / compliance and related reporting including: COBRA, FMLA, ACA and HIPPA
      • Strong working knowledge of federal benefits regulations (ERISA), Department of Labor (DOL) and other regulatory agencies that impact the company’s benefit programs
      • Benefit administration
      • Demonstrated ability to articulate and implement strategy and align with stakeholders
      • Possess strong financial acumen and quantitative skills and ability to use data analysis to proactively derive insights and support fact-based decision making
      • Leave management understanding and experience desirable.
      • Strong written and oral communication skills

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

      • 7+ years of relevant experience, with 5+ years in a leadership capacity
      • Prior experience with health plan or managing self-insured benefits programs preferred.
      • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
