      Job Summary:

      Oklahoma State University seeks an experienced and dynamic Director of Benefits to be an integral part of the Human Resources team, providing leadership to the OSU Benefits unit and guiding HR professionals in benefits administration. This role focuses on ensuring that employees and applicants fully understand and utilize OSU benefits and HR programs while addressing their concerns proactively. Key responsibilities include strategic oversight of benefits administration, vendor relationship management, contractual negotiation, program communications, and customer service, with daily support for the OSU and A&Ms.

      Key Responsibilities:
      Leadership and Development: Lead a team of Benefits staff to foster a positive, service-oriented, and innovative environment. Train and mentor HR professionals to enhance their service delivery.

      Benefits Administration and Communication: Oversee the administration of all benefit plans. Ensure clear and effective communication of benefits programs to employees and retirees.

      Policy and Compliance Oversight: Develop and propose updates to University policies related to benefits, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

      Contract and Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with vendors, coordinate contractual negotiations, and oversee benefits design with an emphasis on cost-effectiveness.

      Strategic oversight: Monitor program efficiencies, project costs, and implement cost-effective strategies to enhance the benefits portfolio.

      Employee and Customer Service: Address employee and applicant inquiries, assisting them in navigating benefits and HR programs. Serve as a resource for OSU/A&M campuses, building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

      Education & Experience

      Position Qualifications:

      Required Qualifications:

      Bachelor's Degree.

      Five years of applicable HR/benefits experience.

      Two years of supervisory or lead experience.

      Proven experience in benefits administration, policy development, and HR leadership.

      Strong understanding of federal and state benefits regulations.

      Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with experience in staff development and vendor management.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      Master's Degree.

      Experience at OSU or higher education or governmental sector.

      PHR or comparable certification
