      Overview

      Join Our Team at UF Health Human Resources

      The System Director of Employee Benefits at UF Health will play a key leadership role in guiding and supporting all aspects of our employee benefits programs. This includes health and welfare insurance, voluntary benefits, leave and absence plans, retirement offerings, and well-being initiatives.

      Reporting to the System Vice President of Total Rewards, this role is instrumental in helping shape and strengthen the Employee Value Proposition, ensuring alignment with UF Health’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

      **The role is remote, it is based in Florida, and candidates are required to reside within the state**


      Responsibilities

      • Team Leadership, Management, and Communication :
        • Lead and mentor the benefits administration team, providing guidance and support.
        • Collaborate with HR, finance, and executive leadership to align benefits strategies with organizational goals.
        • Develop clear communication materials to inform employees about benefits offerings.
        • Work with all HR Teams to ensure seamless HR delivery for employee benefits; including Service Center, HR Operations and all Centers of Expertise.

      • Program Development and Management :
        • Design and implement comprehensive employee benefits programs that attract and retain top talent.
        • Manage various benefits plans such as health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
        • Oversee the annual benefits enrollment process and educate employees about their benefits options.
      • Compliance and Vendor Management :
        • Ensure all benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
        • Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with benefits providers and vendors.
        • Conduct regular audits of benefits programs to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to legal requirements.
        • Partners with IT and or HRIS to ensure data integrations are optimized.
      • Data Analysis and Strategic Decision-Making :
        • Analyze benefits data and trends to assess program effectiveness, making data-driven recommendations for enhancements.
        • Develop and manage the benefits budget, monitoring expenditures and making necessary adjustments to stay within financial constraints.

      • Optimization . Use strategic, collaboration, and business acumen to creativity to identify opportunities for process/system improvements within the day-to-day executive reward opportunities.

      Qualifications

      • Education : Bachelor’s degree required, often in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related fields
      • Experience : Seven (7) + years in benefits management with progressive leadership responsibilities. Seeking experience with both health and welfare benefits, leave administration, and retirement benefits.
      • Industry Experience : Healthcare experience with a knowledge of industry trends, jobs, and workplace care settings.
      • Technical Skills : Proficiency with benefit platforms, HRIS systems, data analysis, and financial modeling.
      • Analytical Ability : Strong skills in analyzing benefits data, integrations, vendor reports, benefits reconciliation, and market trends.
      • Communication : Excellent ability to convey total rewards and benefits strategies and influence executive decision-making.
      • Regulatory Knowledge : Deep understanding of benefit-related laws and regulations such as ERISA and FMLA.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Education: Master’s degree preferred
      • Certifications : Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) and other relevant credentials from WorldatWork, SHRM and other institutions highly valued.
      • Technical Skills : Proficiency Workday HCM highly desirable.
