- Ensure standardization throughout the existing CDI programs according to industry leading practices. Develop and maintain organization-wide policies and guidelines that provide structure for the individual CDI programs.
- Develop an active, collaborative interface and structure with AdventHealth Medical Staff
- Organize process improvement/committee on a clinical or product line basis to address documentation improvement opportunities. Provides staff support services to such committees
Bachelor’s of Nursing (BSN)
5+ Years of related experience in an acute hospital clinical setting
5+ years of progressively responsible leadership as a CDI director of manager in a large acute care hospital setting
Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) License
Masters Degree in Nursing, Business, or Health-related field
Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS)
Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist

The role you’ll contribute:
The Director - Clinical Document Improvement (CDI) is responsible for the strategic and operational planning, design, implementation, and oversight of the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) program at Florida Hospital. The CDI department aims to improve the overall quality and completeness of both electronic and paper-based clinical documentation in adherence to industry best practices. S/he will develop strong partnerships and interface with senior leaders, campus administration, and key physician leaders to reach the goals and objectives of the CDI which include achieving the highest quality of clinical documentation to produce the most accurate codified information for patient safety, measurable outcomes, and accurate reimbursement. The ideal candidate will also be aware of the upcoming ICD-10 transition and impact to documentation requirements. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
