Research Strategy: Collaborate with Corporate Strategy, Care Strategy and Marketing to develop and implement a comprehensive research strategy aligned with Charlie Health’s mission and vision. Identify research priorities, establish partnerships with academic institutions, and foster a culture of scientific inquiry within the organization

Clinical Outcomes Evaluation: Design and oversee studies to evaluate the effectiveness of our behavioral health interventions. Utilize a range of quantitative and qualitative research methods to measure patient outcomes, treatment efficacy, and program effectiveness

People Management: Lead a team of two Outcomes Analysts analyzing large datasets to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement

Quality Improvement: Collaborate with Care Delivery and Care Strategy teams to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives. Utilize research findings to guide evidence-based practice, enhance treatment protocols, and optimize patient care

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Clinical, Care Strategy and Care Delivery teams to align research objectives with business goals. Collaborate with Product Development teams to integrate research findings into the design and enhancement of our digital health solutions

Thought Leadership: Represent the company as a subject matter expert in behavioral health research and clinical outcomes at industry conferences, symposiums, and professional associations. Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to the advancement of the field

5+ years designing, conducting, and disseminating behavioral health research, ideally with 1-2 years of that experience in industry/health tech setting

Microsoft Office proficiency

Work authorized in the United States and native or bilingual proficiency in English

Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in a behavioral science field with deep knowledge of behavior change. Background in adolescent behavioral healthcare or related fields is preferred but not required

Knowledge in and comfort supervising different types of research, including experimental, retrospective data analysis, RCT, and patient-centered/qualitative

Proficiency in statistical software programs, including SPSS and R (or equivalent) required

Previous experience with survey automation for large datasets

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills that allow you to not only find innovative ways to solve problems, but anticipate potential problems before they arise

Ability to communicate to both scientific (external collaborators, journals) and non-scientific audiences (executives, internal stakeholders, clients) - articulating not only the contents of a study, but its strategic value to the company

Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and listening skills, with a natural, consultative style

Ability to energize, communicate, and build rapport at all levels within an organization

Strong project management skills, with a demonstrable ability to corral and manage details in a fast-paced, fluid environment

Experience advising, presenting to, and persuading senior corporate personnel

Passion for working in a rapidly growing business with curiosity, humility, humor, and professionalism.

- Able to work a hybrid schedule of 4 days per week in our NYC office and located within 75 minutes' commuting distance of the office

About the Role
As the Director of Research and Clinical Outcomes at Charlie Health, you will report to our Chief Clinical Officer and will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of our clinical model and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based services. You will lead our efforts to drive innovation and improve patient outcomes by overseeing research initiatives, evaluating treatment effectiveness, and implementing best practices within our organization.

Additional Information
The expected base pay for this role will be between $99,000 and $174,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location and years of experience. Further, base pay is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Charlie Health-sponsored benefits. #LI-HYBRID
