What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and implement a strategic plan aligning division and university priorities with those of the local community
- Work directly with local public officials and other institutions to promote/lobby on various topics
- Analyze issues, implement actions, and generate proposals for local governments to advance the university's mission
- Partner with other Cornell and non-Cornell offices regarding research, extension, and higher education as it relates to community relations
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of community relations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree with at least five to seven years of full-time work experience in a college or university public relations or government relations operation setting
- Experience in supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with a research institution and ability to work in a complex decentralized environment
- Experience serving on community leadership boards
