Union County Educational Services Commission is a rapidly expanding public school district located in Westfield, NJ that provides innovative and cost-effective solutions for students enrolled in the 21 member school districts located throughout Union County.
The Commission is currently seeking a Director of Curriculum and Instruction to promoting academic achievement of students by providing district-level leadership in the development, supervision and evaluation of instructional programs implemented across all Commission schools and programs.

Requirements:
* Earned Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Supervision and Administration or other relevant field of study from an accredited college or university.
* Provisional or Standard Principal or School Administrator Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Education.
* Minimum of three to five years of exemplary classroom teaching experience.
* Minimum of three years as a school or district administrator.
* Extensive knowledge of effective instructional practices and ability to develop, implement and evaluate curriculum programs across all content areas.
* Highly effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills needed to train, motivate and support administrators and teaching staff members.
Sample Responsibilities:
* Work collaboratively with District Administrators, Principal, Supervisors and Teachers to provide leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive curriculum frameworks, course outlines and formative assessments aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
* Implement a curriculum review process that utilizes multiple measures of data in order to evaluate the ongoing efficacy of existing instructional programs and make recommendations regarding the adoption of new courses, materials and practices.
* Meet regularly with individual teachers and Supervisors of Instruction to share content knowledge and resources; develop lesson plans and assessments; and provide feedback necessary to support highly effective instructional practices.
* Supervise credit retrieval creation and implementation for high school students in consultation with district and school administrators.
* Oversee the evaluation and purchase of curriculum, textbook, and instructional materials within district, school and departmental budgetary allocations.
* Guide School Improvement Panels (ScIPs) in the timely creation of annual professional development plans based on educator performance and student achievement data; building and district goals; and feedback from teachers and administrators.
* Oversee district professional development program focused on engaging all staff in sustained learning and growth in alignment with NJ Standards for Professional Learning.
* Implement an organized and efficient system of recordkeeping to document compliance with annual professional development requirements set forth in N.J.A.C. 6A:9C.
* Support student participation in local and statewide assessments by analyzing data and providing training, support and materials to teachers in areas of identified need.Qualified candidates are invited to complete the online application to be considered for an interview.
